Hello folks.
I am really considering getting into clowning, and not sure where to begin really. Where I am at is in choosing my character, then seeing how well development goes before investing my fews bucks on materials. Help!

I would highly recomend that you buy a book called Kreative Clowning, you should be able to find it online. I make sure that all my students study it. It is kind of the bible of the industry. It has lots of information on all aspects of clowning that you may be interested. If you find that you are still interested after learning all of that, look for a class on clowning in your area. Hope this helps.

Hi There!
I'm CuppyCake the Clown and I have been Clowning for about three years. How I got started in the buisness is I did a Birthday party for my girlfriends daughter. That is a great way to get experience. Doing parties for friends and family. After you have a few gigs, you can call your local entertainment agencies in the yellow pages and tell them you are looking for work. But before you do anything you need to learn a few skills. Such as making animal balloons, face painting and a few magic tricks. Go to your local magic dealer and ask for a begginners book on animal balloons. Practice making the basic balloon figures. If you can't find a magic shop in your area go to: www.tmyers.com this is a online clowning magic store that most clowns use. They have everything you will need to get started. Finally, call some of your local Clowns in the area, they may also be able to send you in the right direction as to info on local classes, supplies ect. Finally, hopefully you have alot of free time on your hands. You will need it. Clowning requires ALOT OF PRACTICE!! There is alot to learn. People with very active lives or families sometime have trouble finding the time to dedicate to practicing. Well, that is the best advise I can give you for now on how to get started. Clowning is ALOT of FUN, but it is hard work. If you have any further questions, you may contact me at: april_damski69@hotmail.com Best of Luck to you!- CuppyCake the Clown
