View Full Version : Thanksgiving plans, anyone?
Scruffy 11-24-2004, 05:49 AM Happy turkey day to all our virtual Alley Members! Anyone have something to share . I'll go first the. I am very thsnkful for my family, who not only put up with my craziness but encourage it! I am thankful that God is faithful in meeting our need even though I haven't been able to find a job and have been unemployed since March 1st. I am thankful for the sense of Humour that I have geen given.
Iam also leaning to be thankful for all things. For example. I'm very thankful that wrinlkes don't hurt
Happy Thankgiving to all!
Scruffy
Great topic idea, Scruffs!
Wow, where do I begin on the things I'm thankful for...
My Family first and foremost, supporting me in every crazy endeavor I have, most recently the creation of BIPS. My wife is really great, and my kids are great, when they're not fighting...:)
My Job. They have an employee team that promotes events and activities within the job, volunteer work, fun events, etc, and I offered my services once I was confident enough to do so in October, and it has really been something wonderful.
My House. I'm glad I bought a decent sized house, cuz now one room is half filled with my props, makeup, hats, and other goodies...
My Health. I'm pretty healthy, knock on paper (closest thing I had that is a wood product)
My Sense of Humor. Without it, alot of things wouldn't be possible. Including the next thing I'm thankful for, My Sanity....:)
Tinks 11-24-2004, 02:26 PM Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving may it be blessed by great food and good friends and family!
I'm thankful this year for a lot of things....for still having Mom and Dad with us... Mom is surviving Throat Cancer and has been in remission for 7 months. My Dad is battling Lung Cancer and I'm thanking God for each day he is still with us. I'm also Thankful to God for giving Dad the strength and a few good days so he can enjoy the things he loves so much, like being with his family and hunting with his sons. And for giving me the strength to deal with everything.
I'm thankful for my 4 brothers, 2 sisters and 10 nieces and nephews, and also 2 bonus nieces that have joined our family. We are very family orientated and there will be 30 of us for Thanksgiving Dinner. :o
I'm thankful for my health... I was sick last Thanksgiving and I'm glad I'm healthy enough to enjoy the celebration this year.
I'm thankful to all of you for the help you provided me in discovering Tinks! and for the wonderful way you've all make me feel so welcome here.
I'm thankful I've found new friends!
Oh geesh almost forgot Hubby! Thanks hubby for putting up with my crazt antics my sense of humor my horrible singing voice and my childish ways!
I'm also Thankful for my dogs... whom I love very very much... and who also hog the bed so much that I've resorted to sleeping on the couch!

First Iam thankfull for my children and grand children who let me know when something is funny or not
And also to my wife who encourages me to go after my dreams no matter what they are
and for old freinds and new one that I havent met yet
saphireSue 11-24-2004, 03:13 PM Great Top.
There is so much to be thankful for. Jesus, through him all things are possible.
My Husband, who encourages me to continue when times get rough and support me through all our growning pains. 3 Wonderful girls, although not perfect, have always behaved well, never done drug or alclohol, they get involved with public service and make me very proud. For parents that have always been there for me and that we still have both of them mom's 72, dad's 74. I see so much suffering in my job, that I'm constantly reminded that my life is very good.
Also for this group of fun loving people and Dave for creating it.
May each one of you have a blessed holiday. Although this is a holiday for when we here in the US give thanks, may you all take a day to remember the things that make life special.
mr_buckaroo 11-24-2004, 03:23 PM being thank full this year has been a hard thing for me its been a hard year but when i realy thought about it there has been harder ones. im thankful for my boy he is what puts a smile on my face and keeps me going, Jesus cause i always know he is there for me and gives me the right way to go eventhough sometimes i dont agree he keeps me on the straight and narrow. to my brothers and sisters even though i dont see or talk to them much i know that they are there. for my mom and dad though they are not with us anymore i know they are still looking down and loving me.
Sadly we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK
But i hope you all had a good one
Scruffy 11-26-2004, 08:44 PM Too bad about thanksgiving. But You have Guy Fawkes day which I always thought looked to be a jolly time.
Good to see you ACC, I hoe pall are well in your family.
Bonfire Night (Guy Fawkes Day) is just a night full of fireworks and large fires.
It's a great night to be with your friends and family, the kids love it.
The wife and i are doing great thanks for asking Scruffy.
I hope you and your family are ready for christmas (too much time in the stores  )
Scruffy 11-27-2004, 02:10 PM I must confess, Christmas wears me out. I Love it, but I don't care for the crass commercialism I like a quiet holiday with freinds and family, A little Eggnog, Some Wassail. Quiet time to celebrate Christs birth.
That is enough for me. It's the commercials and the like. Here in the renegade colonies, the store have had Christmas merchandise out since just before Halloween. Iam ready for a break allready!
saphireSue 11-27-2004, 04:36 PM I think Christmas is my favorite time. Yes there's to much commeralized, but people are generally more caring, forgiving and generally nicer than any other time of the year, we should try to take this part of Christmas with us through out the year. I think I'll start a new line. About Christmas.....
SouthwestSam 11-27-2004, 10:37 PM Hope everybody has a Happy Thanksgiving. I had to work so not much I can say. But I'm thankful for the good friends found here at this forum.
