OK. I've seen pictures & tried to figure this out, but I'm stumped. I want to make a flower basket or vase. Any of you expert twisters have some instructions you'd be willing to share??

View Full Version : Looking for balloon instructions... in Harmony with Jesus 03-12-2008, 01:30 PM OK. I've seen pictures & tried to figure this out, but I'm stumped. I want to make a flower basket or vase. Any of you expert twisters have some instructions you'd be willing to share?? Fitzwilly 03-13-2008, 12:19 AM Last December, right before Christmas VSGL1 (Sorry, I just looked at it and don't remember the correct spelling) started a thread called "balloon top hat." In that thread Jolly Well refered to Professor Wonder's site and an Uncle Sam top hat that they feature. That hat is a good skeleton for hats or vases or baskets. You simply fill in the blank spaces and by adjusting the length of the bubbles you can adjust the shape of the sculpture. in Harmony with Jesus 03-19-2008, 08:45 AM 153 My vase is a little lopsided, but the flowers are cute! :) firemoe 03-19-2008, 09:35 AM Harmony, I think that is a great attemped!! :applause: If you want to see a wild sculpture, go to: mbd2.com Articles - Balloon Vase (http://www.mbd2.com/forum/articles/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=120&Itemid=86) This thing is 4' tall and uses like 50 balloons!! Firemoe pixcoco 03-19-2008, 10:28 AM My favorite flower vase is made with 4 balloons of one color which will make the basket and the stems for the flowers. Then you need the tops...4 more balloons in what ever color you want. It starts like a weave. balloon 1 (b-1) half inch bubble, then 4 in. bubble. b-2 half inch bubble, attatch at end of b-1's 4 inch. then a 4 inch bubble b-3 same as above, attaching to b-2 b-4 same as above, attaching to b-3, then attatch to b-1's half inch bubble You now have a circle. b-1 Make a half in. bubble and a 3 in. bubble which then will attatch to b-2 after it's half inch bubble. Repeat around with last one pulling thru to complet the circle. next round is the same but I make the long bubble a little smaller still. next (and last) round is the same also but I go back to the 4 in. because this will be the base and it will stand up better. Now pull all the long left overs thru the middle and out the top. Attatch flower tops in standard manner. It is fairly fast and not to hard. I hope I discribed it well enough. If not, let me know and I will try again. in Harmony with Jesus 03-19-2008, 12:29 PM This thing is 4' tall and uses like 50 balloons!! 50... try 70 balloons!:o hmm... i may have to play with that technique & see if I can do something similar on a small scale. I  it! in Harmony with Jesus 03-19-2008, 12:32 PM Coco, thanks for sharing your vase. I'm definitely gonna try this tonight. You could probably snap & tie the ends & use a different color for the stems. Have you tried that? Just curious how that would work. Ooo... I'm excited now! This will give me something neat to take to my cousins for our family's Easter dinner! pixcoco 03-19-2008, 06:58 PM Of course you could if you wanted different colors. I don't normally have a lot of time to do extras. I make big things even if I have a lot of people so I like the time saving vase into stem thing. The stem doesn't show very much anyways. good luck with it. After you do one or two of them they are pretty fast. Very do-able in a restarant. in Harmony with Jesus 03-24-2008, 11:16 AM Thought y'all might like to see these. The first one was made using Coco's instructions & pulling the remainder through for the stems. The white basket was made using the same technique but with 5 balloons instead of 4 for the basket & popping & tying the remainder, then adding the balloon flowers. 154 155 156 157 158 Fitzwilly 03-24-2008, 07:18 PM Looks like you are becoming quite the twister there Harmony. Well done. in Harmony with Jesus 03-25-2008, 08:32 AM Thanks Fitz! I'm starting to get the hang of it. Twinkles is picking up pretty well too. Actually we have some exciting news to share. Our clowns have been invited to a Spring Carnival at a local elementary school in a couple of weeks! I'm going to post a thread about it later today, so check it out for details! RAZZLE_DAZZLE 03-25-2008, 09:56 AM WOW! :applause: Great Job!! Huggz from Razz #2 "The Clown that Rides A Harley" RAZZLE_DAZZLE 03-25-2008, 10:05 AM :applause:Thats truly Amazing Balloon Art work in Harmony with Jesus 04-15-2008, 10:40 AM OK - so my mom LOVES these things! She had me make one for her to take to my aunt that broke her hip. I also made one for a lady from my church that was in the hospital, but forgot to take a picture of it & it was really cute! Actually it looked more like a small flower pot because it only had 2 rows - 2 of my balloons popped as I was twisting the 3rd row so I just cut it off, salvaged scraps & made the stems. RAZZLE_DAZZLE 04-15-2008, 11:47 AM I'd love some instructions on how you made your flowers... If you have time... Great job on making the vase and the flowers. Anyone would love to receive them.. in Harmony with Jesus 05-08-2008, 08:22 AM Yup, that's the basic 4 petal flower. I have used that same concept w/ less air to make one with the little dealy bopper sticking out the top - kina like the yellow one in my last set of pics. I leave probably about 4 inches uninflated, give it a good burp to soften & tie it. Start at the nipple end (not the know like normal), twist off a small bubble & work it to the end of the balloon. Take the remaining inflated part, make the circle (be sure the balloon isn't too tight & you have room to work the twists) then twist like Luki said above. in Harmony with Jesus 05-08-2008, 08:34 AM For the "rose" (the red one you can't see very well in my last set of pics) I inflate about 3/4 of the way bc you end up cutting off the end of this one. Start w/ the knot end & make a small (about 3 inch) 3 bubble roll or "bird body" (You do this by twisting 2 bubbles, lock twisting them together, make a 3rd bubble the same size & roll it through the other 2). Then just make 3 soft loops at the base of the 3 bubble roll & sort of push them up around each bubble in the roll. Make a small pinch twist, pop & tie the rest. Now, the stem of this can be done like the normal stem, but I like to add a little extra to my rose. I make 3 small loops (smaller than the ones on the actualy flower) at the knot end of my stem balloon. This becomes the leaves at the base of the rose. You can make these loops soft enough to sort of pinch & shape them almost to a point & it looks really neat. From there you can make the normal leaves or just leave it straight. Either usually looks good. I'll have to make one & post some pics soon. It will probably be sometime next week, but I'll get it up. Sopey 05-13-2008, 11:52 PM Here's a little quick and easy basket of flowers I make in restaurants. You need four or five 260s and one 321 "Bee body". Inflate one 260, leaving about a 1in. tail. Make a very small bubble (about 1/2 in.) and two bubbles about 8in. each. Bend the second 8 in. bubble back beside the first, then connect the two by twisting the small bubble between the 2nd 8 in.bubble and the rest of the balloon. Make another 1/2 in. balloon at the very end of the balloon and tie it between the two 8 in. bubbles opposite the first small bubble. Take the remaining 260s, inflate each about 1-11/2 in. and using a tulip/apple twist, make one bubble on each balloon. Inflate the 321 not quite to the black tip, then wrap the knot of the 321 around all the flower stems about half way. Push the knot into the 321 with one finger till you can grasp it with the other hand and twist it several times. Now push the tail of the 321 into the body. Finally, place the 321 construction between the two 8 in. sections of the first 260. Ta Da! Good luck. Fitzwilly 05-14-2008, 04:26 PM Sounds quick and easy, (and a good way to get rid of those extra, pesky bee bodies I always have.) Thanks Sw33tiePie 06-11-2008, 07:22 AM Nice vase... well done... i love to share mine...vase/basket/flowers :) Sw33tiePie 06-11-2008, 07:29 AM Sorry... more flowers i wanna share..:) Bumbles 06-11-2008, 07:37 AM Love the balloons, they kook very nice. U have to believe that there was a twister who had 52 tries ... that's was he mentioned .. believe it or not... As for ur question.. the way i did it.. the right petals go inside the left petal. Ohh... u have to make the balloons real soft.. its works very well with 5 petals 160s instead of 6 petals 160s. here's the link to the Braided Rose instructions :- rose (http://www.balloon-animals.com/forum/index.php?topic=55.0) Practice makes perfect.... all the best ok!
