View Full Version : My Debut

Tomorrow (4 Dec) I make my debut as TJ the Klown. I'll be marching in the Manassas Christmas Parade. That's in Manassas, Virginia. I'll be marching with others from the KENA Klowns. (My Shriner Unit). It's supposed to be a beautiful day. (Sunny and in the 50s)

I'm planning on dragging a small rug attached to a rope. I'll use a little kids sized broom to sweep stuff under it as I walk. I wish I could say it was my idea but one of the other Klowns suggested it for me. I've made my Hobo wardrobe from things I picked up at thrift shops over the past couple of weeks. We got together last week to practice make-up. I still need to perfect my look but I'm confident I'll get it eventually. Once I figure out how to upload images I'll post some pictures. I'd also like to set an avatar. Anyway...please send me some positive vibes.

Parades are great! I did our Parade of Lights Saturday. My walkaround wasn't as successful as I hoped, and I like that one your fellow clown thought up for you....

How'd it go?

Best of luck to ya TJ.

The rug routine sounds good. I'd attach an old tennis shoe to it to make it look like a really used rug.

And don't worry 'bout the makeup, it'll come around. I can hear the groans from the other readers right now but the TRUE clown is on the inside,,,,Makeup or not. The makeup is always just an added bonus though I've seen many slap on a coat of makeup and call themselves a Clown. It's in y'er heart,,,,Let It Out!

:D All went well with the parade. I had a ball. The adults all got the "sweeping it under the rug" gig. Most of the kids were like, "What is he doing?" Many of the ladies asked if I either learned it from them or if I would come over to their house to help them clean up. Overall it was a blast. There were six of us Klowns. I learned a whole lot. My next appearance is at Breakfast with Santa on 18 Dec at the Kena Shrine Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
See ya then.
