Sunny Scruffy 04-25-2008, 01:26 PM You need a wig cap, it helps to absorb any sweat, keeps your hair out of your face, and at least for me... when I still wore one. Helps to prevent that creepy-crawly feeling. saphireSue 04-25-2008, 04:22 PM Scratch..... just kidding ditto to what Scruffy said. There's another post on here so you can see what others do. I get two wig caps in a pack at Sally's not much over a dollar and this works well for me. Pickles 04-25-2008, 05:11 PM I could never get the wig caps to fit over my large head (undoubtedly due to my abnormally large BRAIN!). However, I find that cutting the legs off a pair of pantyhose works well. The leg-less panty portion keeps the human hair out of sight and minimizes the itching. It's also a good way to recycle snagged hosiery. I am wearing a gorgeous frilly little-- er... Nevermind. clowning_around 05-06-2008, 04:31 AM Yes the itching drives me nuts.... if it was not for the wig I would be in character all day and night... katriniac 06-17-2008, 06:24 PM Yes, a skull cap certainly is necessary. In fact, a stretchy cotton one is best. Those nylon ones can add to the heat that's already building up underneath your wig. The cotton ones can help wick away your sweat and keep you cooler. And, what's nice about the cotton ones is that they have an elastic band around the hem, so you can adjust the tension, whereas the nylon ones are usually too tight, or they slip and slide back. Fitzwilly 06-17-2008, 11:08 PM Can you buy that under armor material by itself and make a cap from that? I have never worn those shirts but they seem to be all the rage, so I began to wonder after reading all these wig posts. Oh, and if it can be done would it be any better than good ol' cotton? |
