In responce to a suggestion made in this forum I am now collecting skits in order to create a directory of free skits. I am hoping to provide e-mail links and website links for those skit donators who want such information to be included. When I have enough skits they will be posted on my clown and puppetry website at www.truth2tell.co.uk

If you wish to send me any skits please include with the skit it's subject, title and any credits the skit required.

Please e-mail any skits to Gilbert@truth2tell.co.uk

I am looking for a clown skit that I found on the internet a while ago and cannot remember where I saw it, It is a skit about Following Directions and takes place with 2 clowns. One clown has put together a car but did not use the "manual" that was included.!
So the car is a mess!!! The moral is ........The Bible is Gods Book of Direction and if we dont follow it our lives, will be a mess!!!!
If you locate it would you email me at rnrland@comcast.net.
PS
I have done the clown skit "RESPECT",,,,,,,it is wonderful and can be found on the internet,,,,,,,,,,I would reccomend it to everyone!

A Gag is any type of skit, walkaround prop, working and unworking {sight] used in the Circus. Some Gags are used to teach something, as we laugh at the gag. Clowns never performed Skits in the past. Skits are what Circus Clowns call Gags...you don't have to be a Circus Clown to perform gags...clowns perform gags.

...

The American circus term for a clown's act is "gag"; Europeans refer to it as an "entrée", and amateur clowns sometimes refer to it as a "skit" or "sketch". Gags are the clown's written and rehearsed performances. They can take place in the... ring (a ring gag or production gag), on the track (a track gag or a walkaround)... or in the seats. They can be done solo, with the ringmaster, with other clowns or with audience volunteers. They have a beginning, middle and end, finishing with a "blow-off". Gag may also refer to the specialized or gimmicked props clowns may use.Gags can use many different types of blow-off (ending), but some of the most popular are the confetti bucket, the long shirt, a pants drop or the time-honored "all clowns exit running" although contemporary indoor shows may end a clown gag with a simple blackout.

By "amateur" do you mean non-circus? Because the majority of clowns here are not amateurs. I'm not trying to be mean or offensive, but you need to remember the circus is not the only way to clown. Your posts are starting to come across as condescending. We have several circus clowns here, as well, and they have always used the common terminology that the rest of us use.
Please be more specific.

A gag has always been the way a clown performed. Skits have never been used to mean the performances of clowns. Why do we want to reinvent the language that has alway been distinctive to clowning ?
Amateur Webster's Dictionary, One who engages in an activity for enjoyment rather than a profit...or some one that does not make his or her full time living at clowning. You can be a semi professional, this is any body that makes some of there living as a clown. And yes a Professional Clown is any body that makes there living clowning full time.

Amateur or Professional has never met how great a person does something. By the way I have nothing against any body that is not a circus clown in clowning...I know there is much room in the world for both disciplines.

I am a Circus Clown, but I am a Gospel Circus Clown first...

Nothing I write is meant to be condescending, I am sorry if you have taking it that way. I write what I write for information only. If it's some thing you can use that great, and if you can't use the information for any thing thats great also...

I am just a newbe to clowning teach me some thing, I can be teach able. I am far from being a great clown. All I know is that Jesus Loves me this I know for the BIBLE tells me So...Luvin you All...NormaL T. Joey P.S. I will try to be more sensitive in my future Post...thanks for letting me know how I have been coming across.

Now that wasnt very nice and certainly not very christian,,,,,,,,,,,,,we as I said are new and doing our very best ............we need help some help right now............give us time and we will get there,,,I am sure it takes some time to acquire the skill to come up with skits that are both funny and instructional,,,,,,,,,,however if we aren't able to ,,,,,,,,,,,I don't think HE cares how you spread the word, just that you do your very best. You are very fortunate to be able to do it.

it sounds as if you know how the skit goes. you have a beginning middle and end! just fill it in with dialogue! if you are using the bible maybe you could use jonah not doing what god asked him to do when he was asked to go to preach to the eframites(sp?)

just a thought, i think that may have been what alex is refering to.

you have story just add some highjinks!

jus tryin to help!

Have you tried Googling "Clown Skits?" I'm certain you could find some that would be what you are looking for.

LOL there are some mean clowns on here. Alex, they are new to clowning, like myself, and need a little inspiration that's all, no need to be rude about it. Maybe everyone's not a natural clown like yourself...

Or maybe it's because your Jewish, we can be clowns without any training, I think.

Here you go, I found a link for you that seems like it would be right up your alley. I was going to spend my time thinking up insults and demeaning things to say to you, but I decided that I could use my time more productively and actually help, instead of putting you down. Wow..

Clown ministry skits - a collection of skits for clowning for Christ (http://www.clown-ministry.com/skits/)

Let me know if that helps you.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with gaining inspiration from skits or gags that have been performed in the past. I think a directory of skits is a fabulous idea. I've been known from time to time to borrow an idea from a Boy Scout skit and put my own twist on it. Sometimes looking through old skits can trigger ideas for something new. Let's face it, we don't always have time to start from scratch.

Please don't take offense at comments such as the previous one that come across as being snide or rude. While forums like this are a wonderful way to share ideas and information, communicating over the internet instead of face-to-face makes it somewhat impersonal and much easier to treat each people in an uncivil manner. While I can't guarantee that everyone will be nice all the time (in fact, I'm pretty sure they won't), I hope you can take less welcoming comments with a grain of salt and know that there is rarely ill intent behind them. Truly, we are glad you are here.

Clown walks around with a flower, stops at a group of people picking out a lady he hands the flower to her...She grabs for the flowers stem, but ends up with a straw instead of the flower...clown looks at his audience who are laughing...at the gag. Clown looks one more time at the flower and gets a face full of water that comes from the flower. Audience is now laughing hysterically...

Clown walks around with a very large Bag over one shoulder and the Words written in bold large lettering "Cement" so every one can read it. [bag is full of news paper] In his other hand a very large sign reading..."Side Walk Sale" this is a running gag... This gag is made funny by the clown staying in Character

Clown is twisting balloon animals and one of his balloons pops...Clown looks at his Audience and says thats okay I was thristy and needed a POP...

One liners can be great laugh getters...may be not a gag [skit] but will do in a pop, I mean if you get a pop, if a balloon burstes...

Okay I will stop...

Luvin you all NormaL T. Joey

Can you help me find a skit that we can do to recruit help for our church nursery. I had one that was pretty good but can no longer find it. It can be funny but would prefer it be a wake call for those who don't want to get dirty with our young ones if you know what I mean. Thanks
