I know I am the new guy here and really should not be making suggestions already, but I am surprised to see that there is no juggling section. As a clown that is my greatest asset, I do a lot of juggling, and have made up countless skits involving three balls an inept clown.

Is there one and am I missing it, or is there not one at all?

thanks

There are some individual threads on the topic of juggling, but no specific juggling subforum. I suppose it would fit in the "variety" section.

I was actually looking for it under the children's section. I saw magic, balloons, and face painting and wondered where the section on juggling was. I guess it is not as popular as I had thought...hmmm.

Congratulations, you are now officially ordained to add a few juggling skits, to the forum. This position includes honors and privileges yet to be determined by her Royal Highness; The Princess of Bozonia. Ruler of the whole of the Kingdom of Bozonia, Queen of the Realm,Defender of the Ice Cream, and of Course, the designated driver. (Her shoes are smaller than ours:p)

Arise, and wipe off your shirt. You're dripping all over the place!

Seriously, I think it is a great idea! Princess, your thoughts please?

Every single one of my shows contains more than one juggling skit, and those are the ones that get a lot of applause. I recently did one with Apples, taking a bite out of one during the same part in a song or juggling hankies after wiping the "apple juice" off my mouth. I have also done some comedy ones with mixing two bounce juggling balls and one bean ball, makes for some interesting and funny skits...I could keep going on, but yea I think they should have something with regard to juggling :)

Chalk one up for the new guy! Good call.

I think that part of the challenge is that it is a bit difficult to talk about juggling. It is one of those things that just needs to be seen or experienced in order to fully communicate.

And I have the bruises to prove it!

If that were true, there would not be any juggling forums ;)

Besides, it is not necessarily about juggling, but how to make juggling part of your clowning. I do this one thing where I don't juggle until towards the end, the kids are so impressed you can actually juggle they applaud, especially after all the "difficulties" I had in trying to get three balls in the air. This is a clown forum and just like the magic forum, it is more about making it an "accessory" to your clowning, another facet that can open doors for new ideas and routines, rather than "take this ball, throw it in the air, then this one, when that one peaks, etc.

Ask and ye shall receive! Actually I've considered adding one before, but that was earlier in the life of the forum; it's not a good idea to expand forums too quickly.

Now go be fruitful and multiply the posts. :)

I guess it is not as popular as I had thought...hmmm.

It's not that we don't love juggling -- we do! It's just that most of us aren't coordinated enough to do it!

Oh, yeah, I can juggle -- one ball at a time!

I am learning to juggle. Just curious are there any girl clowns out there who Juggle? I think a juggling thread/section is a great idea. I can juggle three balls one rotation and catch all of them most of the time. As I said I am just learning, but I'm proud of me for getting this far. I consider myself to be one of the most uncoordinated persons on the planet. So I'm real happy with my progress so far.

Sounds like a good idea too me!

I love juggling. I am still figuring out funny ideas for it, but the ego building from doing a trick well and increasing my skill keeps side tracking me. :)

My problem with juggling is progression. I can juggle a couple of different three ball patterns, and I can do a cascade with clubs. I just don't know where to go from there. I can transition easy enough from pattern to pattern, but I have difficulty learning new patterns and being able to transition into them.

I agree with noname, though, the real hard part is being clowny while juggling. Most kids expect you to juggle, so being entertaining while juggling is the trick.

I think Juggling is a big clown asset, I generally use Poi - I know it's not as skillful as ball juggling but I like it visually.8-)

That is actually the only thing I don't know how to juggle. I never even tried it or would even know where to begin, though I could see that being made funny, somehow.

Hehe yeah it’s easy to make it funny if you trip over the poi and fall into a cream pie you left on the ground or some such.

I will try to take a video clip of me with some poi if anyone is interested!

I've long wanted to try my hand at poi... it looks brilliant, especially fire poi! I think now I may work on learning giant meteor juggling instead! Fat chance I'll remember tomorrow, Thursday's are for drinkin!

I have filmed it (or rather my fiance did) I just can't seem to find anywhere to host it and I think it's too large for most places (it's 12 minutes).

I don't really know how to cut a movie up to upload it in segments either, anyone have any advice on that?

Also places to upload it would be appreciated :)

I think 50% of my performance is juggling or related to juggling so there you go. Juggling is a skill that takes a lot of practice. Probably that is a reason that it is a skill that not most clowns have in there repetoire. Still it seems to me there are also quiet a few of us that do use juggling as a clownskill.
So thank you for this section!

Lumpy I would suggest to use YouTube to upload and you probably need a video editing programm to cut a video in pieces. I use Moviemaker because it was given with my computer but there should also be freeware pragramms around that can do that

Anyway some sites about poi:
The Fire Chains Site - Learn Fire Poi - Fire Poi Lessons and Firechains Moves - Learn Fire Dancing (http://www.geocities.com/baja/outback/3100/index.html)
Home of Poi - including Fire,Led and Glow twirling/juggling community (http://www.homeofpoi.com/)
