Have any of you had any experience clowning at shelters? My town is very economically depressed. It used to be a GM town, but GM is now gone, with them, most of the jobs. I am sure there must be women/children's shelters in town. I feel that I would be able to really make an impact in that line of clown ministry. I should be able to get help from church.

Any ideas or suggestions,
Petunia

My alley performs occasionally for a children's shelter in Columbia.
Contact the person over the shelter and discuss what you would like to do and see if they're interested, and find out if you can do ministry related skits, bits, magic etc. Ours is open to any thing, but some since they're goverment reg. may have to be more careful esp. if you have children of other religions in the shelter.
