I attended the Circus Magic 2005 Convention, in Williamsburg, Virginia this weekend. All I have to say is WOW! It was a blast. I learned a whole heck of a lot. Easy things to do with balloons for parties, a few magic tricks, and some makeup ideas some physical comedy stuff. Bubba Sikes was there, and taught "the 5 minute face" based on the european clown look, which is new to the states, apperantly. T. Texas Terry taught rope spinning. Karen Bell taught hat juggling. The list goes on and on. There was a dinner and a variety show that was totally funny. I made contacts with clowns from a local alley too. One of them even gave me some tips on stippling my beard to give it more dimension. I even met a local talent agent, who offered to start booking me for birthday parties, if I wanted to do that sort of thing. It was well worth the money. I bought a few things from the vendors too. I could have spent a million dollars on all the stuff that was for sale. I kept telling myself, "TJ, you have to limit your spending or you really will end up a HOBO!"
