I've made several of these lately and have come out with some good looks. They aren't something you'd want to wear to the beach (a popped balloon could lead to an awkward situation) but they have their market.
The owner of a "dance establishment" (the kind you need a lot of $1's) asked me about putting the balloons on a dancer or three but not sure if I'm going to take the gig. I can't imagine much word of mouth business for birthday parties coming out of the place (It'd be hard for "Dad" to explain where he heard about the balloon guy to "Mom."), but the new market option is interesting to say the least.
I'd post a photo of a completed project but:
1.) I'm not modelling any of them!
and
2.) The photos on an "appropriate" model probably wouldn't be suitable for the forum.
You can likely find an example by doing a search, and FHM magazine had a basic how-to in 2004.
Even if you don't make them for real people, they may be suitable for clothing your larger balloon sculptures.
