Does anybody have any cute & easy ideas of how to make a dolphin, frog and cow?

(Fitz, I loved the frog you taught us at camp, but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it!)

Frog:
Inflate green balloon leaving about four inches of tail and burp well.

Now let a little air out of balloon.

Make one inch bubble, and tie the nozzle to the twist.Make a four inch bubble and fold twist it, tuck the first bubble inside the fold twist.

Inflate a 5" white round or a white heart. Divide the balloon into to sections of equal size to form eyes.

twist eyes around the green balloon just behind the green fold and secure with an ear twist in the green balloon.

Now form a three bubble roll through. keep the body sections about five inches long.

With the remaining balloon, at the tip, form a one inch bubble and twist it back to the base so that you have a long loop.

Divide the loop in half, and twist it off at the base with the one inch bubble forming the feet.

I hope it helps...

I never finished the frog at camp, so I don't know how it ends.... My roommate found a cool dolphin at camp and spent one morning before breakfast trying to figure it out.

I seem to recall a palm tree like structure in the middle for the three fins. Unfortunately, I never took a picture.

it's a much simpler frog than the one already described, but I learned one off of balloon-animals.com and it's video instructions

I'm thinking about scrapping the dolphin idea. These are HARD!

Luki, I think that yours is the most do-able for me, (not the hat -- the other one) but, while the pictures are nice, the instructions are not clearly written at all. Maybe you could re-write them so they are readable or walk me through this one.

I've got some pretty sick-looking balloon dolphins that are beached out on my office floor. :D

2 light blue 260's
1 white 260

Inflate white balloon and one blue balloon fully and burp them so they are pretty soft.

tie the tails and nozzles together, forming a large football shaped thing. Orient them so that they are parallel to each other, find the half way point and twist them together.

Make a one inch bubble on both sides of the first twist and then twist them together. Pass them through either of the large loops to form a lock twist.

Go to the other end of the sculpture, and 6 inches up from the knotted ends, form a bubble on each end and twist the together.

Orient all the bubbles so that the blues are all on top and the whites are on the bottom

Inflate remaining blue balloon fully and burp well. tie the ends together. Find the half way point and twist them together.

take one side of the loop, and fold twist it to form two smaller loops. These are the fins. i

Install in the dolphin to create the dorsal fin and flippers.

Okay, Scruffy, I think this dolphin will work out great, but I don't know that I'm doing the fins correctly. Can you look at these pics and tell me what I'm going wrong? (And I promise will use a white balloon -- not clear.)

Not sure if this is quite right.

Is this how you meant for me to do the fins?

Oh, and I guess the white is supposed to be the bottom of the dolphin, too. Right. HA! I better study a photo of a dolphin before I attempt to make this for a kid.

No, But I would use that one for wings. Think 3 prop airplane propeller.
Then put it down through the body with one fin coming out of each side between the blue and white. with the third one coming out of the top between the two blues.

Btw, use orange and white and you have Nemo. Use black and white and you get free willy, orca, shamu, my bosses ex wife.....

Ah.....I think I'm getting it.

So do you attach the fins, or do they just fit snuggly inside?

Scruffy, I'm sorry I'm so dolphin-impaired, but I thought there was going to be a third fin coming out of the top. I thought I finally got it, but this is what mine looks like:

Pickles. That is what it is supposed to look like. I will have to learn the other one. that is really cool.

great job.

you need to convince hubby to let you drive to the McDonald's in Sturgis, Mi sometime. Fitz and I will give you lessons, and all you have to do is buy dinner!

I have a really cute frog that I learned and also a dolpin...

Frog:
1. Inflate the 260 leaving a 4" tail and tie off (not too close to nozzle).
2. Inflate a 1" bubble (will become the frog's back) followed by a 8" bubble which is fold-twisted on itself to form a 4" loop (mouth).
3. Inflate a white 5" round to 2" diameter. Split in two to form two 1-1/2" bubbles (eyes).
4. Twist off a 1" bubble in the green 260 below the fold-twist (to become back of head); lock in the white eyes at this twist.
5. Tuck/pull/run the rest of the 260 THROUGH the middle of the fold twist until the eyes rest on top of the fold-twist mouth. Position that first bubble (with the nozzle) so that it is pointing up and free behind the eyes and back of head (we'll be tying it in to the back legs later).
6. Twist off a bubble right where the balloon exits the bottom of the fold-twist (mouth). This will be about 1" below where the eyes are twisted in, and the bubble itself will be hidden within the fold-twist. I guess this bubble would be like a throat.
7. Twist two small fold twists (or two large pinch twists) at the twist in step 6. Position these side-by-side and horizontal to appear as two small front legs/feet. They should be right under the mouth fold-twist (startin' to take shape, eh?).
8. Make a 2" bubble for the underbelly. Squeeze all remaining air in the balloon to the tail and form a 1" bubble at the tail. Lock this tail into the twist at the end of the belly bubble. This makes a long fold-twist/loop with the remainder of the 260, which hopefully is soft enough to...
9. Split the long loop in half, like a figure 8, to form the back legs. Position these, too, side-by-side, horizontally, and put the little bubble tail on top.
10. Now tie in/twist in the nozzle to the bubble at the tail to form the back of the frog.
11. Draw eyes on the white round (I like the Kermit eyes with a upright oval with a horizontal line through them) and a mouth on the green fold twist (I like to draw a long squiggle with some freckles).
OPTIONAL ENDING: inflate a pink round and tie off, twist in/tie in underneath the mouth for a throat.

the Dolphin:
The dolphin starts by leaving about 4 inches uninflated. Do a small flower petal (about 3 in) at the knoted end and repeat wrapping them together
Leave about a hand width then make six 1 in bubbles wrap those back the end of the hand width then take true remainder of the balloon and divide the bubbles wrapping all but 5 or so inches around the middle section of the bubbles take the rest an turn that into the dolphin mouth twisting that in half and bringing the end back to where the bubbles are. Then take a white balloon about 4-6 in long
And tie off the ends to under the bubbles.

Thanks to everybody who helped me with this. I'm adding about 10 multi-balloon animals to my menu for next week. I love the ones that use multiple balloons but are not so complicated that I can't remember how to make them.

If you can think of any others that I should add, please share.

Cute, Sweetie-Pie! Don't think I'm totally stupid, but how do you make the bracelet part of your flower? Do you just tie the leftover part of the balloon around the wrist? Please explain.

I sometime use scrap for the bracelet strap.. or maybe new uninflated one.... i made 5 or 6 petals for the flower so there are'nt enough to make the strap.

What if you used a 160 instead of a 260 -- have you tried that?

I just thought a 160 might make a daintier bracelet. Plus there would be enough of a tail left over to use for the part that goes around the wrist. I'll try it and see how it works.

heres another frog which was shown to me awhile ago,(sizes are approximate) inflate green 260 leaving 5inch tail. make 2 pinch twists, then bubble, pinch twist, bubble, pinch twist. make 6inch loop for mouth and push the first bubbles through so it looks like the lips beneath the loop and a pinch twist on top of the head.

make 2, 3inch bubbles for the legs and locktwist. make 3inch bubble for the back, make a small bubble at the end of the balloon and lock that into the bottom of the back. You should have a loop to push the legs thru. Its similar to the one earlier in this post.

make eyes using 5inch round and lock onto pinch twist on head.
draw wavy line around mouth loop and add artwork to the eyes and a tongue with a fly (puffed pink 260 with black piece of scrap) if youre feeling adventurous, to the lips under the mouth loop, and there you go.:)
