Whew! that's a big one.
Many things have to be considered when you start talking price. In no particular order:
Your experience and level (quality) of performance.
Your geographical area. IE, size of city, number of clowns in the area type of community. Mostly blue collar or more professionals than blue collars, or a pretty even mix?
Your skills. What you bring to the table? Facepainting, balloon twisting, magic, juggling, puppets. What do you have to offer?
What others with more experience are charging and why do they get that amount.
Do they stay busy or are there more clowns than work availible?
These are some things to think about. They all contribute to how much you can charge for your performance. Remember. You may be a hundred dollar an hour Clown; But, if the people who can afford it aren't in your area you won't see it. It's better to be busy.
Hope this helps.

Scruffy right, check around and see what others are charging, that will give you a ballpark to work from. I'm in a small town in which mills are closing, and no other clown locally. so I check out the petting zoo, and other traveling entertainers and what they charge. If you want specific prices Mine range from 50 to 100 depending on what they want.
Yes, definitely check out other peoples prices and what their price includes. I charge 125 an hour but I'm competing with alot of big companies that have 10-20 clowns and I have just me. In this area party entertainers of any kind are rather pricey. (sp?) My price will sometimes change depending on what they are willing to pay and how bad I need or want the job. Today I woman completely beat me up on price and told me "so and so will do it for this much and they will do such and such" I'ts a 5 hour gig and I didn't want to lose it so I came down. (Not alot mind you, but enough to make her feel like she was getting a good deal.

Different prices for different things, my 50 to 100 is refering to your local b-party, per hour.
