Blossom 06-22-2005, 08:44 PM How do I get my makup off quickly and without killing my face? it takes me SO long to take my makeup off and it really hurts my face. PLEASE HELP!!! saphireSue 06-22-2005, 10:06 PM I'll repeat Scruffy's advice, moisturize before you put on make up it helps. I use Kryolan Hydo Oil and work it into my make up real well, I can then just wipe with a baby wipe to remove my make up, then I was and moisturized again. Lot quicker than the old cold cream and less messy. White face takes longer but my Sally come off in 5 mins. Scruffy 06-23-2005, 05:35 AM I have yet to try an entire face with it; but, Mehron makeup remover. It works, and it doesn't take much. It takes me forever to get the makeup off. Especially the beard. Use a good moistureizer and work it in well. But the remover cuts the makeup in SECONDS. Just put some on a cotton square and hve at it. I have used baby oil, cold dream and shampoo for a long time, and from what i was shown in the costume store., This stuff is the fastest and cleanest. You just need to wash your face well after you are done. :D ashes 06-23-2005, 09:12 AM I use my own concoction -- Ponds makeup remover pads, but I also pour in some of the Kryolan Hydro Oil. The last times I've put on my makeup it has come off with only one of these pads, and then soap and water to remove the oily residue. Ponds makeup remover pads by themselves are great, but they kept drying out on me because this is my slow season and I don't use them too often. So, I poured in some of the Hydro Oil and found it made for a really good makeup remover solution, and also found that they don't dry out! I got the hydro oil from Bubba Sikes, and you can find the Ponds makeup remove pads at a good pharmacy (CVS for me). The Ponds pads come in a plastic container, and they also sell "refills" in a foil pouch. Once you open them, put them into a zip-lock baggie to keep them from drying out. Ashes RedClownFred 06-24-2005, 01:51 PM I say remover all the way! But like Saphire and Scruffy say...MOISTURIZE! I find when I do this before and of course after, it makes it a lot less traumatic on the skin! And I have quite a bit to remove! Good luck! R.C.F. GiGi 06-25-2005, 11:18 AM I just use plain old baby oil. I pour it the palms of my hands and rub it into the make up until it looks rather muddy. I then wipe it off with a dry washcloth and after that just soap and water. I only takes me a few minutes and I'm good as new. GiGi :) Chetrow 07-01-2005, 10:30 AM oh ya mean there's a way i can remove this stuff?   Scruffy 07-01-2005, 01:11 PM oh ya mean there's a way i can remove this stuff?   ... Arn't you thankfull for this site? I so wish I had this as a rescource when I started clowning. I had to learn everything the hard way! A few conventions helped! I can remember when the only make up remover available was Crisco and Baby oil! Crisco did make my face feel wonderful! I recommend "ProFace Professional Make Up Remover" By Leon McBryde. Its like Mary Kay for Clowns! In fact, his whole make up line is awesome! He is a former Ringling clown, he certainly knew what us clowns needed! Just put a dab onto a really soft paper towel and simply wipe off your make up! It also smells devine! I will never use anything else! This moisturizes your skin and leaves it feeling silky and fresh! Have fn & good luck! Scruffy 08-07-2005, 09:16 PM Last Saturday I clowned for our Churches Bible Club registration. To prepare my face for Scruffy's This is my routine. 1. apply ponds moisturizer and work into face and neck. 2. Apply No sweat. I believe its made by proface. I apply it to a cotton square and do my face, chin, behind my ears, and the back of my neck. 3. Apply make up and set with ben nye neutra set powder. 4. apply coating of Ben Nye Barrier spray. removal: 1.Apply mehron makeup remover to a cotton square and use to loosen makeup. 2. Wipe with a clean baby wipe. remove as much as possible with these to methods. 3. wash face with baby magic baby wash on a face cloth, rinse dry face. I did it this way and for the first time ever, removed my makeup cleanly in about five minutes! fumbles 08-30-2005, 07:01 AM [color=black] [/colo I have been using the hand soap from Bath and body works the kind with the little round scrubbies in it. It works great I dont even have to use make up removal. The trick is to use alot of it! :D Fumbles Scruffy 08-30-2005, 04:03 PM I used baby oil for many years. On a whim, I decided to try the remover. I've never thought about some of B&B's stuff. I imagine it would get it off. Ruby 08-03-2008, 07:01 AM :DI find using baby oil works great! Work up really good and messy, tahen wipe with warm, damp cloth. Use soap and water and then face cream to soften skin . Once I ran out of baby oil and to late to make a trip to Wally World. Looked in the kitchen cabinet and found my bottle of Virgin Olive Oil. Didn't work quite as well as baby oil but did make a good emergency removal. Cost more than baby oil!! TIC TOC 08-03-2008, 03:55 PM I use baby shampoo, water and washcloth. After removal I feel baby soft not greasy or oily.I do put on a very little bit of baby oil before my makeup bugaboo the clown 08-03-2008, 08:19 PM Albolene is what I swear by! You take it and rub it in and wipe it off with a paper towel. It leaves your skin not only clean by hydrated as it does not strip your skin! One jar lasts a very, very long time. I am currently using Ben-Nye Clown White for my white face, I find it somewhat tough to put on...anyone know of an easier, hardier brand? Pickles 08-03-2008, 09:09 PM This isn't a mkeup removal question, but rather a makeup application question. I am currently using Ben-Nye Clown White for my white face, I find it somewhat tough to put on...anyone know of an easier, hardier brand? Do you soften it up in the palm of your hand before you apply it? It IS tough to spread if you don't. White Faced Someone 08-03-2008, 09:11 PM gee, I hadn't thought of that....thanks Pickles!!! Scruffy 08-04-2008, 05:25 AM Ditto to what pickles said. Rather than put it on my hand, I use a round makeup sponge. You load it up by rubbing the sponge in circles on the makeup cake. The friction from doing this will warm up the makeup and make it easier to apply. Also. FWIW, shave just before you have to apply the makeup. you will get better results. smirky 08-04-2008, 12:47 PM i have but mine in yhe microwave for 7 to 10 sec. to soften a bit and it works will. TIC TOC 08-04-2008, 01:09 PM I use a little baby oil first I also use a blow drier on high to slightly warm then after putting it on I pat it with my wedge applacator to even it out,for touch ups on site I place it in my under arm for a few minutes.also a couple good deep breaths for small amounts works, but I have been told Im full of hot air my whole life buttonstclown 08-04-2008, 03:46 PM This isn't a mkeup removal question, but rather a makeup application question. I am currently using Ben-Nye Clown White for my white face, I find it somewhat tough to put on...anyone know of an easier, hardier brand? Try Jim Howle's make-up. I've been using it for several years and love it. The make-up is soft right out of the jar and goes on very easy. Buttons saphireSue 08-04-2008, 08:31 PM I use the Ben nye, I do like Scruffy suggested, I load it on a round sponge then pat it on. Humidity and your own natural skin oil can effect how the make up works for you. I Love the Ben nye, but you might want to try a few others to see if one suits you better. JuJu2 08-07-2008, 10:26 PM I can never get it all off at one time it takes days. Some people are just lucky. There skin does not get funny for weeks on in.But I love clowning. All this talk is helping me. Thanks! Lots of laughs, JuJu saphireSue 08-07-2008, 10:29 PM there are lots of responses in the old post, every one has their own method, I use pro-face make up remover, on a thick baby wipe, usually only takes one wipe and the remove is a water soluable oil so it comes off easy for me. Scruffy 08-08-2008, 04:49 AM I just rub my finger around in the can. it creates a kind od puddle. and softens it. Fitzwilly 08-08-2008, 10:41 PM WFS - what size container do you have and how old is it? Is it White or White Lite? TTatorTot 09-05-2008, 02:55 PM I used to use baby oil to remove my makeup.. but after years of that I decided to use baby wipes.. Kirkland brand from Costco are great. Also the all natural ones from huggies work if you do not have costco! :pie: |
