I was just curious about your clown personna. How did your clown come about? Did you choose your name then give him/her a personality? Did you already have a childish side and chose your costume them a name to match?

For me, I chose my name Mercy Me, but I knew my clown would be mischievious :-x and child-like. The costume came after.

For me it was the character that came first. I love little kids and people always say they like me too cause I'm just like them. so now my Clown Preschooler has a good time playing with all her "little friends"

That lead to the name, PattyCake because when I was very little that is what my mother used to call me and it seems to fit just fine

the costume is still evolving. I had ordered a nice little girl's party dress, actually designed for squardancing but it fit the bill. the dress was not ready in time for my very first party so I got some overalls, added lace, glitter and cartoon character decals, cut the legs with one just a bit shorter and used that

Now I am leaning more towards that than the dress I so carefully designed. I meant to dress up but PattyCake seems to be a jeansy type of girl. :pint:

My daughter's character is too. When we first started the clown class none of us had costumes. There happened to be one (wadded up) in a bag so she brought
it home. It was four sizes too big. The night before graduation I'm sewing bows and belts to cinch the top in.
It just wasn't working.

Plus her wig order got back ordered so I had to cancel it.
Out of that same bag came a knappy, long-hair, lavendar
wig. What a fright.

So at 9 o'clock I pulled out a pair of my denim pedal pushers, cut them short, stitched a rainbow ruffle and a purple cuff on each leg. Stitched a "hanky" in a back pocket. We found rainbow suspenders and a blue striped long-sleeve shirt. That knappy wig was combed out and braided.

Her costume ended up fitting her character and her make-up so well!!! She was very cute. Her clown name is Poki.
Her costume just "happened" but it happened to be just the right one!!
