Can anyone help me with a problem that i am having? I am new to clowning but while putting on my make-up before a gig I am having a serious problem with sweating, I know it sounds gross, but it is a serious problem to me. My make-up is sometimes running before i even finish my face.I end up leaving for my event feeling like i am melting. I use Bob Kelly white for my base then I use baby powder to set then Ben Nye for my color. Is this simply a biological nuisance i must deal with until cooler weather prevails? Or is there a way for me to combat my wicked witch syndrome before the meltdown starts to occur? please help me. thank you for whatever help you can provide.

Twisty.

p.s. if you will you can respond to me at twistyandsparkles@hotmail.com

There is a product on the market made by Pro-Knows. It's called Pro-Sweat and it works very well. Most suppliers should carry this item. Another idea is switch powders. Ben Nye makes a theatrical powder in neutral and super white. How much greasepaint is on your skin is a good question to ask yourself, because if the layer is too thick, the powder will not set correctly. The Pro-Sweat will retard sweat flow, and you will apply it first before applying any greasepaint. The last idea may be try using creme makeup. Ben Nye and ProFace make clown colors in creme. Creme is good, because only a thin layer is used, and it will usually last longer than greasepaint. Since creme is used in theatre, the powder used to set is the theatrical finer powder.

I have some Bob Kelley Clown White and it is a water based makeup! Try changing to Ben Nye or another known brand and see what happens. Also, try changing to a white setting powder, instead of baby powder. I have found it works much better, and is worth the extra cost. Bump a Nose.....Willy Nilly
