Shoestring

Someone bought me this (http://www.simplicity.com/dv1_v4.cfm?design=2849) pattern. My daughter brought up that the jumpsuit on the two costumes on the right are the same, and that I should make both the pinafore and the vest/dickey to match my jumper and I would have two outfits.
I think it sounds like a good idea, one for when I'm stage clowning and another when I'm doing a balloon gig, but I don't know if I should make the cuffs straight like in the bottom or flouncy like in the top........I'm also open to the idea that my 7 year old has no clue what she's talking about.
Opinions?

That's the pattern I used for my 1st pinafore dress (the one in my avatar). I was thinking of making the one with the vest for Hobo Night at Moose Camp. The pinafore was super easy to make! I I would totally use it again!

I really love my bloomers I already have (they are made from modified scrub pants pattern) but my shirt is bleh....I don't know that a jumpsuit would be good..what if I have to visit the little clown's room?! eep!
Where did you get your shirt or did you make it?
Also, my bloomers have more than 3 colors on them....so like should I make another pair that are solid or do you think I can use them anyway?

I'd make both... always good to have other options :D
I used this one... 2785 on this page Simplicity Patterns for Sewing Projects (http://www.simplicity.com/index.cfm?cat=4&type=19&sec=46&startrow=1)

I got my shirt from the Silly Farm. I didn't use a pattern for the bloomers - I just came up with my own. I have two pairs - a yellow sort of stripey pair and a solid green pair that go with my Christmas dress and my "violet" dress, which was based on an apron pattern that I have. I've been sewing for a long time, so I often adapt patterns to make them a little (or a lot) different. For my overalls ("clowneralls"!), I just used a pair of bib overalls I had as a size guide for cutting, and then added my own little accents (pockets, buttons, etc.). I had so much clown fabric in my sewing cabinets, that I challenged myself to not buy a single thing when I made those (and succeeded)! I really like the long-sleeved striped shirts and would like to find a green/white and/or a purple/white one to go with the Violet dress, but cannot find one anywhere.

You could put a sting in the hem at the bottom of the jumper instead of elasic, then you would have the option of tieing them into a ruffle or having them straight.
I would also make the whole set so that you can mix and match to make different outfits but stay in character somewhat.
Just my thought.

I made scrub pants except I shortened them and added a drawstring around the bottom hem.....they are so cute.....I hate to not be able to use them....

What colors are they? Who says everything has to match anyway? :)

They are pink and yellow and orange and brown argyle with a leopard type print. *much cuter than I just described.....
Actually, I found a pic on someone's blog of the fabric! http://ny-image2.etsy.com/il_fullxfull.37602874.jpg

Use it Shoestring. It isn't nearly as gaudy as say a wide rainbow stripe. It looks like something that a lot of little girls would think of as cute.
