YOU MAY REMEMBER ME AS J.J. but alas i was saddened by it as it had nutin to do with me..but then i took ashes advice and thought of a nickname that i had ... well a nack for. i thought and then it hit me like a pound of pies in the face *BOB* but that wasnt good E nough so i chose a little game to play (chess) but im so clumsy i fell and switch the boared around backwards and i thought *BACKWARDS_BOB*!!! I LOVE! :D and im wandering if you guys know any skits/tricks/gags/songs/anything to start me up at my talent show in 4 weeks (with a salary of about 2-4 dollars a week? thanks alot! you guys help so much!

Glad you found a name - very cool!

For your talent show, are you alone, or with other clowns?

You can learn to work the crowd some by starting off clapping
a short rythm and asking them to mimic you.
Clap out various rythms, or maybe Clap-Stomp-Clap-Stomp or
whatever. I've even seen folks who clap their hands, then
clap a hand to each elbow, and then to each knee.
Whatever pattern comes to mind.

Keep repeating this and the crowd will get good at mimicing you.

The "finale" is to clap faster - let them mimic - then faster still
until you are clapping really good. Let them mimic you and
take a bow to their "applause."

well first off im seeing if my 2 maybe 3 of my friends will help
and to get into the talent show you have to preform for the teachers first (almost everyone gets in) and im not sure if i may interact with them

You will never know how you inter act with them till you try it
you might be suprised to find out that maybe they want the same thing you do
you have nothing to lose by trying

I don't know if you would be able to find it in time for your talent show but there is a really cute book called Happy Jack's Clown Skits for Everyone. It has some really funny, easy skits, etc. for one or more clowns. I found my copy on Ebay.

There is a really cute and simple skit for 2 clowns
called "Stagecoach"

For a whole bunch of clowns you can do "Emergency Broadcast System"

These require just a quick run-through in order to be able to perform
them -- Stagecoach needs some timing and has more "gags" in it, so
will need more rehersal.

There are a couple of books written by Barry DeChant with clown skits
in them -- they are must-haves in a clown library in my opinion.

For other skits, you might look on the web for
Boy Scout skits -- many of them can be adapted
to be "clowny"

World's greatest spitter -- 2 clowns --
"Spitter" and "Catcher"

Catcher has a bucket (empty)

The build-up -- Spitter clown claims to be best, most accurate
spitter in the world!. Catcher says, prove it.

Spitter winds up and (pretend) spits - Catcher thumps the
bottom of the bucket to make a noise. The 'thump' needs
to be concealed so folks don't see you thump the bucket, they
just hear the noise.

From there, it is all acting! Curve spit. Corkscrew spit.
Around the world spit. The Catcher is the key person -- they
need to follow the spit as it crosses the stage, moving the
bucket and all -- Follow the corkscrew spit in a spiral as it
comes in, etc.



World's Best Shooter --- Similar pretense, except shooter has
an old cork pop-gun. The "catcher" has saltine crackers that
"break" with the bullet -- the catcher actually just holds them
up by finger and thumb and breaks the cracker at the right moment.

Or, at the wrong moment -- there can be some real good comedy
here. The catcher needs to be appropriately scared. Over-act
it!

The shooter can do behind the back shots, between the legs shots,
use a mirror and shoot, etc. A real "shooting exhibition!" Until
the catcher exposes the gag by breaking the cracker before the
gun is shot.

The basics are here, now take these ideas and run with them. Make
the skits your own.
