I was listening to one of the "A Heart 4 Clowning" talk radio shows the other day and one idea she gave was to cut some bubble wrap sheets into squares and hand out to the families of patients and to the hospital staff so they could use them as stress reducers.
I decided to try it yesterday, when I clowned at the hospital. People loved getting them. I could hear the sounds of light snap, crackle, pop, and laughing going on as I continued down the hall.
Just thought I would pass on the idea to others.

There's a radio show for clowns?
It's a talk radio blog I recently came across. The lady that speaks wrote a book I have for hospital clowning, called "A Heart 4 Clowning". Here's the link for the radio blog ...

She doesn't have very many out there right now, but you can view her past articles for ideas too.

What a good idea! I thought about bringing some to some of the meetings I have some time too. Who can resist bubble wrap!

You're welcome Jodie, I'm glad you liked the idea and found it useful. I thought it went over well and definitely plan to cut some more bubble wrap up for the next time I go to the hospital.
My grandmother had very serious arthritis and used to find popping bubble wrap physically therapeutic to help exercise the joints in her hands.

Hi everyone,
Also in the website Aheart4clowning is a great idea for smilez on a stick. They are awesome. You pay only $5.00 and Becky Cortino sends you a zip file that you can download to your computer and print out these awesome Smilez on a stick. They are the cutest and the patients love them. I also give them out when I see someone frowning. I say here is a smile for you! and tadah! they smile and say thank you!. Some people have given me strange looks and then later on smile and stop me to remind me that I gave them a smile on a stick. I work in a very large office high rise building. Since some of you have already looked up AHeart4CLowning blog, you night want to also look up Charlies Chaplains. The same lady Becky Cortino heads up a training class on Hospital Clowning in September in Hickory, North Carolina. Check it out, it is fun and very informative. I have been there two years in a row. I am going back this September. ;)
