In discussing the price of costumes I was directed to Sewing Patterns and clothing patterns from SewingPatterns.com (http://sewingpatterns.com/) . Use the search term "clown" to see patterns that are said to be easy!

Perry Noia 02-20-2009, 10:34 AM Simplicity patterns are definitely easy enough for a beginner... my costume is actually a Simplicity Raggedy Ann pattern made in different colours. I added a hat that is just a big circle with an elastic stitched in a few inches from the outer edge and voila! I would say that if you chose to do a pinafore like mine though, make the ties go straight across the front instead of putting an elastic on it, it's just not secure enough with an elastic for having kids pulling on you. Use the search term "clown" to see patterns that are said to be easy! Interesting concept! I've never seen this site and am interested in what others think if they buy a pattern from it. The thought of printing all the pages and assembling sounds like more of a pain than just buying the pattern (especially when they go on sale for $1.99 or so). Pinning printer paper (which is thicker than tissue paper) to fabric would be a bit cumbersome too. Maybe the intent is to assemble and then transfer to tissue paper. Although if patterns are out of print/no longer available and this is the only way to get them, it definitely sounds beneficial. |
