I recently performed my first clown job at my niece's birthday party. She is now 3 years old and most of the guests were in the 3-5 age range, the one I like working with the most.
I was so nervous I forgot all the balloon twists I knew but I did recall the dog and a sword that seemed to be enough cause when I made the first dog, they all wanted one. My own grandson was at the party and he had been seeing me practice and knew that I should know other things. He asked for a girraffe which is just a dog with a long neck.
Otherwise all went very well. I got laughes in all the right places and my magic tricks went off with out a slipup. I painted little faces using stencils as most of the children did not want the paint on their faces but my little niece, who had also seen me practice asked me to make her a kitty cat and I did. That started the other children wanting to be painted up too.
It was wonderful. I also handed out a few fliers and I now have two more jobs one the end of May and one in June. I just love it and cannot wait till my next party.
