Well sat. Morning, my new little troupe of 5 kids ages 9-13 did their first showing at a nursing home. They had been practicing on small one on one type things. each also has a puppet, they each had one trick and one puppet and they had a blast, You know how older people love to hug, children. they all did well, little stand offish at first but warmed up quickly the staff and pt's new they were new and will start going once a month. And as soon as I get a copy of the picture I'll post it.

Hey Sue!

Sounds like it went great! I grew up clowning in Nursing Homes with a Church clown troupe. I was 10 or 11. I hated it at first. The smells bothered me & it would depress me, even at that age. Then I grew to love it, especially when I knew allot of these people had nobody, they were abandoned. They also made me feel like I was actually a good clown! They were not hard to impress. They loved any little thing. We would bring hearts cut out from construction paper that said "God Loves You" or little silk flowers from the craft store. We went back on a monthly basis & they had kept & displayed each thing we gave to them. It was a huge educational experiance for me as a child. It hurt me when the residents didn't want us to leave their room & beg us to stay. I remember some of them crying.

Hey Sapphire Sue! It's me....Mercy Me!! :D I've been out of clowing for over a year, but still have my outfit and nose! Our family is in a new church and we just told them we're {Cheer and Mercy Me} professional clowns and their eyes just lit up! So we may have a new clown group in the future!!!

I'm so excited to be back on the forum. I've thought of you bunch of clowns often. I'll talk with you again!!
