I've been clowning for several years with my group but have just started doing Hospital clowning on my own the last 6 months. It's been great. I get tickled how many think clowning is just for kids. But I get a bigger kick out of the adults. There have been times when I'm making rounds that they'll get out of their beds and stand at the door and wait for me to get to their room. I carry simple pocket magic and sometimes do balloons but balloons make for a long day 4-5 hours. Any suggestion?

I use a cart full of visual gags and jokes. It holds my stuff and gives me a surface to work off from. You can't count on an available table top to be there.
