Has anyone ever made paper trees out of newspaper? It seems this would be cool for a clown to do and you could even teach the kids how to make them instead of giving out balloon animals ata a party or school thing especially where the kids already have all the stuff for making them. Any ideas? I was just thinking it would be cool. Especially for SCOOP cause he could work w/ newspapers w/ his character and that would be cool.

I haven't seen newspaper trees before... What do they look like?
My problem would be getting enough newspaper. I use all of my newspaper for my dog who is mainly paper trained.

you roll up newspaper, over laping each sheet not completely then tape it about half way down, and at the bottom, then cut [and this is not easily done newspaper is tuff] cut 4 times down the side side then slowly pull out from the center, make at tree easily 6 feet, it you tape both ends and leave a section about 10 inches in the middle and cute only have of it out, longway and pull from each side in the center you make al ladder.

I think there is a good description in Kid Stuff by Francis Marshal
Self working paper magic by Carl Fulves probably has a good description in it. The later would be easier to find.

I'm too visual. I need PIX! I have no idea what you guys are talking about but it sounds like an interesting way to save money. Maybe you could ask the kids to bring the paper in advance? Could somebody please post visual instructions? Pretty please! With a banana cream pie on top? Please?

You could also go to those recycling bins they have in some places for the paper. There always seems to be tons at least in this area and the garbage company doesn't mind of you take it. I actually think it saves them money not to haul it.

You can sometimes find newspaper at your local library as they may put out a bin for people to throw away their recycled newspaper flyers. Otherwise I have found them at the convenience/gas station type stores as they pile up the old ones that don't sell for recycling. I can also give your directions on how to make a newspaper hat with no tape or staples just folding if anyone is interested.
