There was a thread about clown trunks before, but it must be so old it got archived...

Anyway, I decorated this tool box before, but it wasn't really that practical for bringing with me. When I moved from San Diego, it got messed up, and then it sat in the closet for a while.

Now, it's back, and better than ever...

I got another bin for storing the clown stuff that doesn't come with me - makeup, catalogs, old costume pieces - and now this is just full of stuff that I'll actually bring with me on site. I've got over 700 260's and a big bag of Geos on one tray and other props on another. If I need to go clowning, I can just grab it and go. If I get a balloon twisting gig out of clown ("out of clown"? *shudders*), I could just grab the balloon tray. The pump is mounted with wingnuts, so I can take it off for transport and screw it down for a secure platform and faster pumping. The end of the hose is loosely zip-tied in place, so that it won't fall to the ground, but can still be moved around.

I'm ready, and loaded for bear!

cute thanks nice to see how the balloon pump is secured. Good idea no more grabbing at your pump.
Thanks,
Sara K.

Looks great... Can you ride your unicycle and pull it along with you?

Neat trunk... but I'm more interested in the unicycle beside it ... which one of you is learning how to ride?

Both of us are learning to ride. We can make it about 12" at a time so far; we've got a ways to go before we can ride in a parade.

Something learned in the field that cannot be predicted at home: the draw pressure on the upstroke of the double-action pump is greater than the mass of the contents of the trunk. In other words, I pulled up on the pump handle and the whole trunk came off the ground, instead of drawing air. I had to put my foot on the trunk and pull up; maybe we'll put some bricks in the bottom of it. It still works pretty good.

We'll keep everybody posted on the unicycle progress.
