Not too long ago, I watched that show My Name is Earl. Anywho he was dressed up like a Hamburger was supposed to make balloon animals for the kids but didn't know how so he asked them if they wanted a snake, a worm or an eel. It just struck me funny, so now I use it at parties just to get the kids reaction. I then make them what they actually want. I just thought it was cute.

Blow a balloon up, tie it, then call it a stick. Boys, especially, like playing with sticks, afterall. Or say, "Oh, it's eventually going to end up unknotted and straight, anyway. This way, it will show everybody that you're a very smart kid, ahead of the pack!" It can also be a line. And you can do so many things with a line. Just use your imagination.

Gigi, I think I saw that same episode, even though I have only watched it a couple of times...
The single balloon tied is great for schtick, especially the younger kids. I've also used letters like a lower case L, a number one as a joke for the birthday boy or girl, and as a " birthday geiger counter" where I use my thumb to manipulate the balloon to point towards the birthday child.
It has a ton of uses....some which I'm still working on...
This is BIPS by the way....some reason its not showing me....
after I twist one bubble in the balloon I ask if they know what it is and they will give a few different answers I say no its a balloon silly

I sometimes say "oh, do you want a balloon?"
And the kid is like"duh! that's why I've been standing in this line for an HOUR" (actually, they say "uh-huh")
So I reach into the bag of balloons and start to hand them an uninflated
balloon. But I stop and say. "Oh - that comes with free air." and
then I inflate it.
Sometimes I inflate a balloon, then let the air all stream back out while
I direct it towards my face, then under my arm pits, etc. -- I tell the
kids "air conditioning"
