OK, this has been one of my project ideas since getting back from Moose Camp. I finally found the time to get the basic pieces assembled. Once the glue dries, I will likely dress it up a bit. But, here is the prototype Instant Toony Vision Camera! :applause:

It was made out of a pool noodle, a foam drink cooler, several foam squares and a few foam blocks. It was glued and pinned together. I may need to reinforce the connection to the lense, that seems to be the weakest point.

I will try to get some new pictures soon....

I found a hollow, clear plastic ornament shell and used half at the end of the lense like a giant googly eye. I also covered some of the joints with some royal blue foam strips. I would like to attach a strap so it is easier to carry around.

I hope to follow the basic design idea and make a set of binoculars...

Sir Toony,

You did an awesome job with the camera! Maybe you could make some extra cash making clown props?

The camera is good. You said you are still refining it so this may not be relevent. However, when cutting foam sheets and noodles make sure you are using a new razor. Get a craft razor so you can extent it well through the depth of the foam. Cut with a straight edge so you get clean straight cuts. If you are carving foam an electric carving knife works excellent. Remember not to pull at the foam while carving as the tension will curve your cut.

After seeing Peachey Keene's props at Clownfest, I am beginning to think that I may not have made my camera sturdy enough to take the abuse of being used for an extended period of time.
