My daughter and I are clowning together next week, we have been recruited to do 3 15-20 minute sets for underprivileged children. My daughter is wanting to do a "magic trick" where I draw a picture of her and throw it into a constructed box, and then she throws it back out and I throw it back in (lots of banter between me and the box and audience participation and such in there somewhere) anyway, she wants me to turn around and give up, and then she wants to sneak out and be behind me, and tap me and when I turn around she isn't there.
She thinks this is hilarious.
We haven't practiced yet, but I was hoping that maybe some of you have some ideas to flesh it out a bit more.......eventually I will turn around and she will be there and I will be startled (also, hilarious to my child) and then we will do ... something... she wants to do banana/bandanna but since she's a silent clown I'm not sure how we'll pull that off.
I'll take any ideas. :)

I know there's a "disappearing bandana" trick out there; you could read the instructions for that trick while facing a different direction (instead of playing the CD like it comes with) and she could try to follow your instructions. Same trick, but expanded for two people.
For banana/bandana, she could do the "trick" while you read the instructions to her.

when you read the word bandanna and she shows the banana you could argue over weather it is a typo or they sent to wrong item

haha, that would be funny.
I also thought it might be funny if she pulled a bandanna out first and put it in her pocket and then pulled out the banana, all the while I'm completely ignorant that she's doing it wrong....and then at some point she uses the bandanna to wipe her hands and I notice "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO PUT THAT IN THE BAG" and then she realizes that she wasn't supposed to put the banana in my "very special magic bag" and smush it up....... might be comical.

They actually did something very similar to this at our clown camp (TNT). One clown did everything the instructions said (being read by another clown who was looking very intently at the instructions rather than noticing the other one was using a banana instead of a bandanna). It turned out really cute... There was a part about putting it into your pocket and rubbing it around or something. Not sure if this is part of the usual bandanna skit or if it was written in for this. He had a bag in his pocket he put it into before smushing it :)

with the box part it might be gd to use a stick or somting for the first tap on the sholder and then for her to drop it making u jump for a second time u could then use it to poke the box resulting in somthing being thrown out or a hummph noise
