Baby Shark
I'm Being Eaten by a Boa Constrictor
Poor Little Bug on the Wall

I don't do them, but you could:
The Grand Ole Duke of York

Just learned this summer:
Tony Chestnut (it's really good and I'm going to find a way to make it fit into my stuff)

What age range in particular are you wanting music for? I have the little kids pretend to be sleeping on the song. Are you Sleeping and then when I play my instrument I hit the same notes but at a higher octive on the ding ding dong part alternating octaves so the kids have to wake up when they hear the bells play (octave change). This works good with 2 and 3 year olds. Now for older kids I like folk songs like Comin round the mountain, They love the chop chop part for kill the old red rooster, and the whistle part for pink pajamas. I also love the backwards ABC song. You can sing it forwards for kids aged 3-5 and then if there are older kids in the group ask if they can sing it backwards. Then you can do so. Usually gets a surprised look. For Action movement there are "Shake my sillies Out" which is an old Raffii song, "And the green grass grows all around all around" Barney song, but my favorite is "The old gray cat is sleeping". It is an oooooold one not sure if it is even known by anyone out there but I can give you the words. If you want the tune you'll have to call me so I can sing it for you but it gets the kids up and pretending to be sleeping cats, nibbling mice, stalking cats, and last scurrying mice. It is very simple good for young ones but older ones like it to. Here is a link for some other action songs Children's Action Song and Fingerplay Lyrics from KIDiddles (http://www.kididdles.com/lyrics/busy.html)

Oh I do the Chicken Dance alright, but that's just dance music... I don't think of it as "action songs" ... for the best kids dance music there is a Fischer Price CD called "Dance, Baby, Dance!" and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Mr. Al is a great male voice. for children's songs. Up beat jazzy. He is sometimes thought of more as a 70's type songs but his songs may be more of what you are looking for. Here is a link to hear a sampling of his style. He does have some good movement ones. Bop until you Drop is one that comes to mind but you can see if his style is what you want. Jack Hartman is another that comes to mind. Check out his bop stop one here. It is alot like Mr. Al's bop till you drop. http://www.jackhartmann.com/listen_watch.htm

The best male voice I know for kids songs is Raffi, closely followed by the Wiggles.

The Learning Station's "Tony Chestnut" is also very fun.

True, but once you get "Bananaphone" in your head, it's there to stay. And that's not necessarily a good thing.

It can be a lot of fun to sing classic children sing-a-long songs and change a few of the words. The kids will shout, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO." Also, singing off key can get a few laughs.

I agree with you Perry. I really enjoy the Wiggles' music too!
