Howdy folks, Dingo the Clown here!

I'm very happy to find this place with so many experienced clowns!

I'm 37 and a retired professional full-contact fighter. I've always been a jokster and prankster and after joining the Shriners last November I've been asked to join the clown brigade.

I immediately said yes, and now I'm doing everything I can to become the best clown I can be.

For those of you not familiar with the Shriners, we tour the childrens hospital, attend many parades, and have many circuses each year.

I will not be paid in any way for being a clown, but I will gladly do it all for the children.

So far I have selected a character - Cowboy; and a name - Dingo. I chose cowboy because it seemed to be a character type I could assume very easily.

I can barely juggle (and I mean barely), can't make balloon animals at all, but I am very, very good with physical comedy and thinking very fast on my feet.

I would really appreciate any pointers, tips, advice on how I can become a good clown. Also any books, videos, websites, etc. that may be helpful?

This clown forum is exactly what I need and I thank you very much for providing this so an excited and energetic new clown such as myself can learn from all the master clowns here!

By the way, we have something in common, other then clowning. I used to full contact/MMA fight as well. Do you think we clown cause we got our screws knocked loose?

Hi Dingo welcome
I work with a lot of Shriner clowns and always have a great time with them
And like you they are after me to join them and maybe some day I will
But until that time I will continue to help them any way I can

I'm pretty sure I had a few screws loose before I became a fighter, but maybe that cost me a few more?

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, and I look forward to learning from your words of wisdom.
