Ok I am ready to purchase a professional case to carry all of my show supplies and magic tricks in. My Old blue trunk is too heavy, too hard to move around, and doesn't hold things in place very well.

I've browsed around a couple of online sites. Right now I'm trying to find out who has the lowest price?

Not sure of price Chris, But I'd bite the bullet and buy a Leffler. It is a roll on combo cabinet and table. Fred Baisch and Pickles both use them. Some day I might as well. Right now with the shoulders; I couldn't lift it out of my car.

Chris, get on Daytona Magic's e-mail list. They have weekly sales, and a couple times a year they have everything 30 percent off. That's how I got a decent deal on my pro-suitcase.

Scruffy, That is the type of case I've been looking at! I've never heard it called that though. That must be the name of the manufactuer.

Pickles, Thanks for the tip! I'll look into that!

I think he was the originator of the design.

I made one of my own and saved a ton of money, so if you have access to someone that is skilled in the art of carpentry that would be my suggestion. The nice thing about making my own I was able to make it a little taller to fit me better. You can purchase the plans from different magic vendors.

I found what I thought to be a good online article on magic cases. I haven't read the whole thing yet but it looks like good info. http://www.reed-brown.com/PDF/The%20Magic%20Tech%20Road%20-%20Larger%20Cases%20-%20By%20David%20Reed-Brown.pdf

I would like to see a Leffler case, but I cannot find a picture of one, even on the Daytona Magic site. Can someone provide a link? Inquiring minds want to know. Actually, I'm kind of curious to see something that I don't have. Maybe it's something I need ... :D

Actually, I just found it ...

It's a little out of my price range right now. Plus, I doubt that it would fit in my car. How cute would that be to have to haul a U-Haul for my magic table? Nice tip, but it's a very good way to watch your money DISAPPEAR!

Hey Chris,

Here are some thoughts on Magic Cases.

An old suitcase from Goodwill or second hand store and a small Bridge table to sit it on for your shows.

An Attorney's large Brief Case.

A steamer trunk standed on edge fitted with shelves or plastic trays.

After getting back into magic, after a long break, I realized how expensive table can be. I made my favorite table out of an old cymbal stand ($8.00 at a flea maket, they even threw in the fleas for free) and scrap metal. Cymbal stands have greater adjustability than drum stands. The table has two interchangeable tops, one to be used with the magic case (also from flea market) and the other all by itself. The case also has another table that stores inside. I also have a case table combo that I purchased from the Goodwill for $4.99 that I will post later. The pictures are on my profile page.

If you are a little creative you can find a old tool case...and a mic stand and merge the two together. Very light and can carry a lot. I created one out of an old silverware case. I just used some old wood refinisher and redid the interior.

Granted..you can purchase lefler table, but if you put some effort into your own case, that is where it becomes priceless :-)
