View Full Version : I AM NEW TO THE CLOWN FORUM
kris66 03-15-2006, 05:38 PM Hi my name is Krista. I am new to this clown forum. I am in the process of talking with my church in starting a clown ministry. It will be interesting to see what they say. I use to do clowning for birthday parties. But now I feel like can use my clowning to bring children to Christ. If anyone has any ideals about starting a clown ministry feel free to contact me.
I would recommend checking out Bubba Sikes site he has some good stuff for gospel clowning also check out Ralph Dewey and John Holmes they have some great lessons done with magic and balloons
Welcome to the forum come and join the chat on Thurs night at nineEST
Scruffy 03-15-2006, 09:22 PM Welcome to you, Krista!
I'm Sure she will reply; Sapphire Sue does clown Ministry. As does Gilbert. They would be best suited for Ministry Questions. I would also reccommend www.clown-ministry.com . They have some skits and other things.
My first public performance as a clown was as a bus clown for our church back in about '84. The church we attend now does not have a clown ministry, but, We haven't been there that long either!
Please, do jion us for chat on thursday evening.

Welcome Krista, I just joined this week too, I'm also in clown ministry. Lots of good resources on the web and here, Great bunch of people on the forum!!
in Harmony with Jesus 03-05-2008, 08:14 AM Welcome Krista! I am alson actively involved in our church's clown ministry. I'm learning balloons too. Ralph Dewey has a great Gospel Balloons series - I've used several things in children's church already just doing balloons as myself, not in clown. Clown Ministry (http://www.clown-ministry.com) is a great site. It has a whole mess of great clown skits! There is a treasure of knowledge just waiting to be discovered in the old posts on here. So jump in & dig deep. I'm sure you'll find lots of help & make some great new friends. I know I have! And yes, definitely join the chat on Thursday nights if you can. And don't hesitate to ask any questions. Everyone here is most helpful! So, again, welcome & God Bless you in your new adventure of clown ministry.
DJ the Clown 03-05-2008, 04:39 PM Welcome to the forum and I know you will find a lot of clowns just like you. enjoy your self and bump a nose8-)
Dodger 03-12-2008, 04:15 PM Hey Krista!!!
Welcome to this merry lot of red noses!! :D
Couple of things I might add, and in by no means are they meant to discourage you, but don't set your hopes too high on finding support or everybody else jumping up and down, knocking each other over to help. If your church doesn't or won't support you - don't stop there, try other churches - maybe even your Association (if you have one).
Maybe it is just me, but I have struggled since I started clowning in finding supporters and help. Maybe we all struggle with this - I am not sure. GOD has laid on your/our hearts to do this but HE may have not told anybody else. That is just the way GOD works sometimes!!
Spend lots of time in prayer about it. Look at the many different ways your clowning ministry can BEE used (nursing home, shut-in, hospital visitations; Big Brothers/Big Sisters events; other non-profits that are involved in kids; etc...) and get involved in more to show others that it is something that can provide service, as well as entertainment.
Look around you to see where GOD is working and see how you can get your clowning involved in what is going on - if that is something GOD is calling you to.
Don't be afraid to just go it alone (well, your never really alone!! :) ), if the support is not there!! GOD will bless you for doing so and stepping out in faith to what HE has called you to do!!!
saphireSue 03-12-2008, 05:52 PM Well I started using clown ministry as a way for my youth [small group] to get involved in ministry work, wasn't to long before the church want to see what we were doing. We do not charge but accept donations for our show which support our group. We were fortunate one to get a grant from a local family that supports local group in communityawareness. Now our church although small will usually pay to send up to the state creative ministry festival and has paid for 3 of us to go to Bubba university, and the nationsl creative ministry. Our funds are small so I don't ask for it very often we try to rely mainly on donations.
Fifi D. Clown 03-12-2008, 08:19 PM Hi Krista! You can learn a lot from this bunch of clowns!
