Don't ask me how I got here...I have been online checking out costumes and skits and wigs and shoes and jumped from link to link to link and landed here...My name is Patticakes , and we are starting a clown ministry with 7 adults and 12 teens. "A Bunch of Clowns" out of the Ohio/Michigan area are coming to our church every Saturday in March teaching us make-up, costumes/charater, ballooning,etc. this past weekend we made a kazoo band...what FUN!!! Today we went on a field trip to a costume shop to get ideas...we were overwhelmed with all the things available, wigs, make-up,props, hats, costumes...I bought a pink wig and make-up, my son got a hat, suspenders, sox and make-up, he wants a green straight hair wig but they didn't have any in stock...I'm sure we will return!! As we develop our troup, I'm sure I will be asking questions and running things by you guys...and gals!! Glad I found you!!!

Welcome patticakes you have jumped into the right place this is the best place on th web for a new clown to learn and get ideas you can ask just about any thing and sombody will have an answer you just have to watch for flying pies with this many clowns in one place some times things can get a little crazy :D

Thanks for making me feel so welcome!!! I was experimenting with my make up today...I like the white face but am having trouble getting my mouth the way I want it :-( I guess it will get better the more I do it. I do like my pink wig though!!! I see myself as a impish little girl...all innocent looking but very mischevious with the pranks

Experiment with the face. It may end up changing several times before you get something that you're truly happy with. I have actually reduced from a full white that my avator shows to simple exaggerations around my eyebrows and mouth. One of these days I'll get my new avatar up, just wait and see.... :)

I agree -- your face, costume --entire character should be
a continual work-in-progress.

If you find costume bit you like, incorporate it!
Experiment with you makeup scheme and don't hesitate
to change and grow.

And Bips, I am looking forward to your new avatar.

I was hoping I might be able to do some uploads yesterday evening, including a new avatar of my latest St Patricks venture, but for some reason the picture fairy here is giving me fits, so I'll keep trying, and one day it will happen!

Probably just in time for 4th of July, and I might as well keep the ole mug I've got on here...:)

well, when I tried to upload the pictures after I did the cropping to get them to the right size it wouldn't let my file load as it gave me some kind of error msg? Don't remember what exactly...

I'll try it again, right now I'm workin' hard on getting my new car up and runnin' to cruisin' and clownin'...
