I like "Color Monte." It's like "3 Card Monte," with blue and red diamonds. I like to do it with a North Jersey "Sopranos" accent.

I can really understand that Christopher. A change bag is also a magician's best friend.

I use the french drop for a number of different effects. It's so closeup that I don't get a lot of opportunity to use it in stage shows though.

I like the professor's nightmare. It fits well in my pocket. But, I don't do a lot of magic when I go out.

I found some brownie mixes that actually bake by themselves somehow...so I think that will be real neat to use in the dove pan or better yet to bake in someones hat and pass samples out after the timer goes off in the "oven".

Where on earth did you get these brownie mixes from?

The easiest and most effective is to have a oversized styrofoam pencil in my pocket and a magic coloring book. They love it, because they get to "draw" "color" and "erase"

Again with scruffys comment. I recently got the yellow sponge ball that changes into a yellow star. I LOVE it ... I assume it performs similar to ball to square aswell as big red hand and ball to bunny. I think I might get those to add to my collection.

my favorite trick is the Hot Rod. Its great cause it takes up almost no space in your pocket. I'm actually in the process of making a bunch of pretty wooden ones to sell on ebay now. :) if anyone wants one send me a message! :)

I suppose mine isn't a "trick" so much as an act. It's a combination of coloring book, silks, also incorporating thumbtip and change can along with various gag wands.

It both plays as humorous for the kids, especially, while using patter that teaches a meaningful lesson. The children like silly stuff in it like the 15 foot silk that just keeps coming. But my favorite part is when I use my concluding line which ties it all together. At that point, I typically get an awed reaction of genuine appreciation from the mom(s.) Which I just love! It's the satisfaction in knowing that I truly connected with them in an unexpected way where they recognized the value in my presentation that makes it click.

My current favorite, simply for audience reaction, is my sponge ball routine. I too have a cube-to-ball that I use, along with a change bag. It seems to be a favorite among the kids for which I have performed.

I like to do my change bag. I have so many things that I use it for, not just silks. The kids love it!

The misers dream is a trick where you make coins appear out of thin air/your spectators etc, and chuck them into a hat/bucket.

Currently, my favorite magic trick to perform is called "Comedy Jumping Silk." It consists of a board w/ three clear plastic cups attached. There is a silk in one of the outside cups. I tell the audience that I am going to make the silk jump from one outside glass to the other but that AT NO TIME WILL THE SILK JUMP INTO THE CENTER CUP!!!! Because I am the boss, and I told it not to!!!!

Then I simply pass the board behind my back and turn it around so that the silk appears to have jumped from one end glass to the other. I start bowing as if I've just performed the most fabulous magic trick ever. The kids are NOT impressed. Once I heard a kid telling her mom that she thought it was a lame trick, and the mom scolded her kid for being impolite. Heh heh.

Because it's such a great magical feat, I perform it again. The kids are even less impressed the second time. Then, as I'm standing there talking about how great I am, unbeknownst to me, the silk jumps into the middle glass. The kids start SCREAMING that the silk has moved into the middle cup. I don't believe them, but then I freak out when I look down at the cup and discover that they are right. I pick up the silk and stuff it back into one of the end glasses and order the silk to stay put. I even put my hand over the top of the glass to keep it in there, but it still manages to jump out into the middle glass.

It's a hoot. Such a stupid trick, but I get an incredible reaction from the kids. I love it.

My three favorites would be 1. Little Hands , a dolls hand I keep in my pocket that fits the end of my finger 2. Flaming hot dogs, and 3. Old McDonald, which involves animal noses and singing. I just thought of another...Jesus Loves Me in clown sign language.

Depends on the crowd.
For children of most ages my vanishing ketchup bottle routine always plays big. or sponge balls.
If I'm doing card stuff, my ambitions card routine finishing with card to shoe then card to mouth is my got to effect.
Coins across if I'm working with money, or the hundy 500.
Hammering a 14 penny spike as my human blockhead routine if I'm working for the types of crowds that like that sort of thing.
Straight Jacket or 100ft rope escape for larger events.

Bar none my favorite trick is a variation of Ron Frost's "Three card color monte". I used to work on 42nd St. in New York with a second floor office window. Right below my Window there was a nightly Three Card Monte team scamming tourists left and right.
Soooooo I took Ron's Trick one step further and use real cards and I changed the patter. A little fast double talking enhances the Blow Off. I've been doing this routine for over Thirty Years and I never get tired of doing it.

Now I'm working on a Six coin matrix and a card and coin matrix routine.

If you can do sponge balls - you will enjoy doing a routine by the Great Slydidni using a Volunteer and a box of tissues, look it up on Youtube - Slydini and look for his tissue routine.
