I have been clowning for awhile but have never been happy with the wigs I have found. I want to find a wig like Lou Jacobs. Does anyone know of a seller or maker of his type of wig.
Thanks to any and all help!!!!!

Angus, I asked pricilla Mooseburger about it and she said that Lou built it. it was made out of a material called Silac (something like that).
I guess the cloest thing to it is the material that they make casts out of. It can be sanded and painted. His hat was permantly attached

Angus, The material Lous cone was made from is called Celastic. I found something on Ebay called Wonderflex. It supposedly is a good substitute for Celastic. I tried to attach a link, but these computers aren't as easy as throwing cream pies. Do a seach on Wonderflex. I was actually looking under foam props.
Bump a nose!

Cianuro,
Good to see you back. I beleive they no longer make celastic. Wonderflex is the next best thing and works the same way.
Best to you

I know what Scruffy is saying. I friend of mine bought some Wonderflex to make a specialized hat. It looks like a simple piece of plastic, but it becomes soft when heated, and can be pressed into various shapes by hand. He placed it over a self-made mold while hot. Once it cooled down it hardened retaining the shape. Apparently, it can be re-heated and reshaped as many times as necessary. He then cut it with scissors and finished with paint, gluing a fabric flower on it. He heated it in the microwave oven, but said dipping it in hot water also works. He purchased it as a square 36" x 36" sheet, and I believe it cost him around $1.00 per square inch ($36.00). The finish product looked great! Hope that helps!
