View Full Version : Walk-abouts....????
Belle 01-06-2010, 12:54 PM Does anyone have any good ideas for walk abouts??
We are looking for good clean funny things to hand out when we walk-about.....any suggestions that are relatively inexpensive?
We are a group of Christian Clowns....
KOODLES!!
Special K'z 01-06-2010, 03:16 PM You can buy those little ziplock bags at craft stores and put a pre printed card with your troups name in them. Then just put in other small funny gag type items, like Miss Priss did for Christmas exchange. Use donut seeds( cheerios or fruit loops), herd seeds (lima beans painted with black spots), snowman doo doo (mini marshmallows), or just print up funny signs like ICURAQT or things like that that they use for clown buttons. You could even put a scripture verse on the card. I google homemade gags and found some ones that might be O.K. at this site Homemade Gag Gifts - WasteSomeCash (http://www.wastesomecash.com/homemade-gag-gifts.html)

saphireSue 01-06-2010, 04:18 PM check out the sticky tread under skits

you'll find all sorts of walk about info.
Rosie Posie 01-06-2010, 10:42 PM You could put skittles candies in the little ziplock bags & say they are rainbow seeds. I label my bags with address labels you can get from office supply stores. And tell them they can either eat them (& grow rainbows in their tummies) or plant them (& watch for rainbows) . Tell them that rainbows are difficult to grow, but when we are careful to always love & care for others we not only cause rainbows to grow for ourselves but for others too.
BlossomTheClown 01-06-2010, 10:57 PM Thanks Special K'z. I love the home exerciser and the yard stick. I will definitely give those a try sometime.
Squiggles 01-07-2010, 07:50 PM I love the yard stick idea! Would be glad to make those and clean my yard at the same time! I use the exercise block in my fitness club skit. It packs small and it gets a pretty good laugh usually.
Christopher Clown 01-07-2010, 09:03 PM Ok get ready for this... all you need is a small notepad and a pen or a marker.. ask people if you can draw their portrait for them, size them up holding your thumb out in front of you as an artist does while painting... do this several times ... exagerating thumb movements, positions, and such, all while drawing...
Voila! When your portrait is finished tear it out of the notepad and hand it to them... instead of their portrait you have actually drawn a big drawing of your THUMB!
You can draw these up ahead of time or do them live whatever floats your boat... it does get a laugh and usually a groan or two.
Squiggles 01-07-2010, 09:13 PM That is from a skit we learned in clown classes..I draw what I see.
BubblesB 01-11-2010, 03:53 PM I put Fruit Loops in a zip loc bag and labeled them Rainbow Seeds to
remember that God loves them.

Or after saying "I'm going to paint a portrait of YOU," reveal a lovely drawing of the letter U. (For variety, you could alternate between the thumb and the U).
Belle 01-20-2010, 12:52 PM Thanks for all the great ideas!!
Phil Tawa 01-21-2010, 11:45 AM Those little fortune telling fish are good. They are about $8.50 to $10.00 a gross. Good for ending a balloon line too. (tell the kids to make sure they play with the fish in the house because the wind can take it away).
saphireSue 01-21-2010, 12:20 PM I like the fish for teens and adult, Go over to a bunch of teens get one started, then they all want to see what'll happen.
Phil Tawa 01-21-2010, 12:34 PM I remember they used to give them out with the fortune cookies and pineapple after meal appetizers in the Chinese restaurants. Anyone else remember? I mean it was in the 60's.
If you remember the 60's, you weren't there.
Phil Tawa 01-21-2010, 02:24 PM I Was just a kid. I don't remember the 70's. Ha!
