Time to announce the next Clown Chat topic, you know how you love to help me with it! Willace: Why don't we discuss International Clown Week this time... because I have a few things to get off my chest! Princess: Ok Willace, sure we can discuss Clown Week if you feel that strongly about it. What's on your mind? Willace: Well Princess, sure I like helping you... Princess: Yes? Willace: ... And being your second-in-command...? Princess: No. Willace: Being your assistant? Princess: Well, almost, but... no. Willace: Being your pack animal and butt of all jokes? Princess: That would be it. Willace: You see, that's just the problem. I like helping you and all, but it's really grueling, thankless work! You don't know what I go through on a regular basis here! Princess: Willace, what are you saying? Willace: How about a raise? Princess: Sure! Willace: Really? Princess: I will double your salary, right now, on the spot! Willace: Oh thank you, most glorious Princess! *bows and scrapes* Let's see, nothing times nothing... carry the nothing... (the Princess tries to sneak away) Willace: Hey, wait a minute! Princess: Now Willace, don't get mad at me... think of your audience! You're a star here! Willace: You just don't know how hard I work! I'd like to see you do all the stuff I do on a regular basis and see how you like it during Clown Week. Maybe then you'd treat me with a little more respect! Princess: Well... ok Willace, you've got a deal. For this Clown Week I'll do your job and you do my job, all right? Willace: Wow, I didn't think you'd agree to that. You'll really do my job? Princess: Sure. For the duration of Clown Week. Willace: You'll really take all the pratfalls? Princess: Just show me a chalk outline and I'll go pratfall in it. Willace: You'll lug around all the equipment? Princess: Just call me a big lug. Willace: And you get to follow the elephants with a broom! You'll see what it's like! Princess: Absolutely. I will do the elephant sweeping up after, for the duration of Clown Week! Willace: In that case, I'm going to go home, put my feet up, read the latest issue of Calliope... Princess: Where do you think you're going? Clown Week is already over! Discuss this article in the Forum! But the show must go on! This week's topic--inspired by Fast Eddie's recent discovery of Benny and Joon--is Clowning-Related Movies, so pop up some popcorn and join us at 9 p.m. Eastern!
He has entertained and lectured throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Southeastern United States and Canada. Tom has entertained at private and public functions at the West Virginia Governors Mansion and also the TAMARACK, West Virginia's center for displaying the talents of the best of the best of its artists and craftspeople, in addition to the Clay Center, Charleston West Virginia's Culture & Arts Center. He has appeared as a guest performer with Ringling Brothers Barnum Bailey Circus. Tom also performed for the lighting of the National Christmas Tree at the White House. You can read more about Tom E. Boy on his web site, stuff4clowns.com. Due to his busy schedule chat will begin at 7 p.m. EST that week. Mark your calendars! Discuss this article in the Forum! Oh, and write "Did you learn clowning from Clown College or The School of Hard Knocks?" on there while I find the textbooks, will ya? (Willace begins scrawling on the blackboard while Princess looks through the bookshelves) Here's an interesting one for tonight's discussion on clown education! (Princess walks into the blackboard while reading, which starts to flip over and bops Willace on the head) Willace: Hey! (Turns around and rubs his head) Princess: Sorry, I'm such a klutz sometimes... let me try and straighten this out. (Pulls the top of the blackboard back too far and the bottom swings out and hits Willace in the rear) Discuss this article in the Forum! Better keep working on it Willace! Got to have the act ready for Clown Chat this week... the topic is Classic Skits! You only have until 9 p.m. EST... Willace: It will be ready! I just think I need to practice with the rope lower for awhile, that's all. *moves the chairs closer together so the rope is on the floor, and walks along it safely* The Princess: Here, you'll need this. *gives Willace the tiny paper umbrella from her drink* Willace: What's this for? The Princess: Balance! Discuss this article in the Forum! Willace, where are you? You promised me you'd set up the stage again, and it's nearly time to announce the topic for this week's chat! And I can't find my makeup kit either! Oh well, we can't wait for him any longer. SHOWTIME! (the curtain opens to reveal Willace using The Princess' lipstick to draw a clown face on himself. The Princess drops her clipboard and stares for a second, then buries her face in her hands.) Clearly, we need to discuss makeup tips this week. See you all at 9 p.m. EST.
