Bubba Sikes comes to Clown Chat!Last night in Clown Chat I was pleased to be able to announce that Bubba Sikes will be joining us as a Special Guest Star on February 8!  He'll be speaking on the topic of "Let's Put the Clown Back into Clowning" of which he says "I see clowning changing into people without a passion for the Traditional Clown.  When a person sees a clown, they expect a funny, exciting character.  They expect to have that clown make them smile and laugh."  Here's more about Bubba:

Without a doubt, J. T. "Bubba" Sikes IS thee funniest, and most sought after, entertainer in clowning today. No matter what type of clown you may be or how long you've been clowning, Bubba will inspire you to higher levels of entertaining. He will leave you with countless new ideas, and renewed inspiration!

A dynamic clown, author, instructor and motivational speaker, J.T. Sikes is recognized as one of the premier Ministry Clowns in the country. He has the extraordinary knack of communicating with you the moment you first meet. His character, "Bubba", is a wonderful, creative and charismatic clown, that delights and amuses audiences with his very positive style of clowning. This warm and whimsy character will get into your heart and make you laugh every time you think of him.

Traveling from coast to coast, Bubba has performed and lectured in churches, hospitals, nursing homes, clown alleys and at National and Regional Conventions. He has served on staff at Advanced Studies, Circus Magic, Clownfest and ClownTown. He is an award winning clown in Makeup, Single Skit, Group Skit, Gospel Skit and Parades. He is regarded as one of the best clown makeup artists in the country. In 1997, Bubba was featured on opening night at the Fellowship of Christian Magicians. This was the first time this organization has ever featured a clown on opening night.

Bubba's motto: "Normal is Boring... It's O.K. to color outside the lines . . . Be bold, Be different . . . Have FUN in what you do!" He always reminds his audience that "God has a sense of humor. If you don't believe this, just look at yourself in the mirror when you first wake up in the morning."

***A very important word about the XP Society***

J.T. is very active as a national spokesman for the XP Society. XP (Xeroderma Pigmentosum) is a rare genetic disorder affecting children all over the world. Exposure to sunlight for only 3 - 5 minutes can result in 3rd degree burns to their bodies. These children can NEVER go outside during the daylight hours and play. He volunteers his time at Camp Sundown as a Clown and by speaking to groups all over the country seeking financial donations. Please take time to visit www.XPS.org to learn more about XP and the programs offered.
