I buy from Larock's and have never had issue with their pricing.
Generally, single color bags run anywhere from $4.50 - $5.70 per 100 (depending on the color of the balloon - x: standard colors are cheaper than neon)
If you're just looking for an assortment, you can buy a bag of 100 for around $5 or a bag of 250 for around $11.

Do a google search on QUALATEX and see what you find. Granted, I like to know others have had success working with a store before placing an order.
I have only used Clown Supplies ( Clownsupplies.com:clown supplies since 1977!) for my purchases. Their prices look to be in the $5-6 range. I picked them initially because they had a variety of products and I could get balloons, noses, makeup, etc in a single order and not have to pay shipping and handling fees to several companies.
If you are looking to save money, see if other clowns in your area need something and place a larger order.

I would also recommend La Rocks. Also Check out their Betallatex balloons. They have great colors and a bag of 50 is like, 2.50 so if you want to try out a different color the bite isn't too bad.

$10 a bag is about twice what you need to pay for balloons. Both companies mentions are reputable and nice to work with. Another good site is T. Myers Magic - Welcome out of Texas. They not only sell balloons the website has a lot of other balloon related information.

I also have a Twist 'em up apron, and I love it. It was probbly one of the best investments I've made. Hold off on buying more videos for now unless you want to get the one by Gilbert Adams. It is a really long video, something like 3 and 1/2 hours on two DVDs for around $40. A good value. If you have a VCR player I heard they have a couple of David Grist Videos on closeout for about $15 which is a good deal. I have been thinking about getting them myself, just haven't gotten around to it. Next, the pump. The best thing to do is gently place the pump in the middle of a busy freeway and cheer as the semis destroy the thing. Okay, maybe a little overboard but wait till you try a double action purple pump at the Spring Fling. No, don't rush out and buy one now, just wait the 22 days until the S.F. Go to The Balloon Animals Blog and watch some of his You-Tube clips and Harmony recommended a site with video earlier today you might check out.

Do you do line work primarily or are you strolling while making balloons?
If you set up stationary - consider a floor pump?
I use various hand pumps when I'm making balloons while stilt-walking; but for my line work, I prefer the floor model.

Also on balloons...
Are you a subscriber at mbd or balloonhq? Alot of designs for the $$.

Hey, I just checked out T. Myers website... Unless he's really cheap on shipping, LaRock's is cheaper on the stuff I looked at. Their 250 count balloon bags are only $11.05 where his were $13 a bag. LaRocks ships UPS so unless you place your order over the weekend or after like 4:30 EST, you'll get it the next day. But I have been known to call at like 4:45 & thy got it packed & out before the UPS guy picked up so I still got my order the next day.
