Default What markers do you use?

What markers are best to use for qualatex quality balloons? or What markers will not make the balloons pop?

Many if not most twisters use Sharpies for the majority of their balloon marking. There is a handful that prefer to use "Dry Erase 2", and they need to be the "2" and not just Dry Erase, why? I'm not sure as I have always used Sharpies. Another option is "Balloon Markers" by Qualatex. Some of the party stores like Factory Card Outlet and Party City usually carry them or a store brand version that is almost the same thing. The nice thing about the "Balloon Markers" is that beside the black markers they have a pack of six markers that are silver with a tint of color to them, one is blue, one purple, one pink, green, gold and plain silver. The Eddington pens are great but are a different beast. They are a paint pen. Msny serious twisters buy the white ones because they are the best option for marking on a balloon when you really want it to be white. A lot of times the silver works, and I have even gone to Hobby Lobby and Michaels and looked at their paint pens designed for scrapbookking. If the scrapbook pen does not contain Xylene, or alcohol then it might work for a while. If I don't use the scrapbook pen regularly (weekly or so) they tend to dry out.

I use Sharpies. But they don't really show up on the darker balloons. Any suggestions for that Fitz?

Go to someplace like "Factory Card Outlet" or "Party City" and look for ""Balloon Markers"" Sometimes they have Qualatex and sometimes they have a store brand that is the exact same pen just labeled differently. Sometimes the barrel is black instead of clear.

Another option is the scrapbook paint pens. They take longer to dry but they work well for awhile. Just make sure they do not have xylene or alcohol in them. I took a couple of balloons into the store with me.

For darker balloons use silver or gold colored sharpies. I love the ones where the head of the marker goes back inside by clicking on it. That way you can throw it inside a pocket and not worry about the cap coming off and messing up a costume.

I use sharpies... I've got a whole colorful assortment of the kind with a hole in the cap. I have them on a ring and hang them from the top of my pants with my horn!
