Default Rocket Balloons

I just noticed that Qualatex now makes a rocket balloon that is much cheaper than the traditional rocket balloon. Has anybody purchased these, and is there a significant difference between this and the original rocket balloon?

LaRock's description says that the Qualatex rocket balloon is a little shorter and thinner than the original, but I'm thinking that with the low price, it's worth trying.

I love those. I use them at some of my big events when I am finished setting up and waiting to go on the clock. They keep the kids busy.

I wasn't aware of that. Thanks Pickles. I probably won't use them, but it is nice to know they are out there.

A rocket balloon is about 3 to 4 inches in diameter and about 3 to 3 1/2 foot long. They are usually thicker than a normal animal balloon and when they are made they do not roll the neck. Think about a regular balloon and at the mouth there is that little roll that helps you blow it up. They come with a short straw that you stick inside and blow through. You don't tie them you just relese them and they fly all over the place while making a really annoying buzzing sound.

You've gotta get some Lilly ... the kids love them. If you want to just get a few to try, I've found them at Dollar General. I think there's 8-10 in a pack for $1. I believe Wal-Mart has the same packet for $.88. Some of the clowns in my group found a bigger package at Big Lots last year for around $3-$4 and it included 25 rocket balloons along with a pump. It wasn't one of those little cheap pumps either. We all went to Big Lots and bought those so we had extra pumps too. It was a great deal.

We all use our pumps to blow up the rocket balloons but the straws come in handy if you want to leave a balloon with someone. Then you can give them the straw too as they aren't easy to blow up by mouth.

I think I love them just as much -- if not more -- than the kids. Granted, I'm really easily amused, but I can entertain myself for hours with a rocket balloon.

I've also used them at parties where we've had contests to see whose balloon can fly the farthest. Fun!

You also got these round ones. They are great too. They are circling fast just above the floor with a hell of a noise instead of going into the air like the rocket. I just love them both. I never go for a gig without them.
