Wink Newbie: Going to perform on children church

Hello I'm Orange. My interest is on clown ministry. Next month will be my first clown ministry performance. Will perform a short routine and add some magic trick there.

It's a children church performance. The theme is "making the right choice." Any suggestion?

My first thought is almost any trick where the helper has a choice. Are you familar with a change bag? This is a bag that has a hidden pocket that you control access to. If you put really easy questions in one side, or pocket, and hard questions in the other you could have an adult helper and a child helper. The child always gets the easy question (What was King David's first name?) but the adult always gets the difficult question (How many bricks were used in making Soloman's palace?)

I'm sorry but I must have the worlds worst recall for names so I'll try and describe a couple.

One magic trick basically you have three envelopes of different colors, you have 2 volunteers come up to particiapte they each choose an evelope and if they guess the correct one they win $1. [of course you win the $] but the spill goes something along the lines of if they choose the first one -- oh so you choose the easiest one, many do they take the easy way out, middle one - is the statically that most would choose so---you go with the crowd, you do what most people would do. I can't go into how this one works but if your interested pm me and I tell you were I got it.

One skit that could work we use as ministry is basicall called [the painter skit] basically two clowns are painiting a room and a third one inexperienece keeps trying to get included, and whe they go off to lunch, he gets into the paint, evenually getting stuck in the bucket, then on the floor. as we do this as a message skit, one clown gets and oversized bible and we pray and the person becomes freed. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God", but you could use the choices/consquences in the skit. Try www.clown-ministry.com they have skits on there they allow people to use.

"Sermon in the Bag" can be fun if the children are up on their bible stories. You have one of the kids pull and object out of a brown paper bag and together come up with a story or a lesson, or perhaps just a scripture. Example: a watch can be: watch and pray, the watchman on the wall, or redeeming the time. A ball point pen can be: o-pen the door. Coke bottle: seeing through a glass darkly, old wine skins vs. new, changing the water in to wine. Pretty much anything goes. I dunno, we always had fun with it.

story bags are neat too. I have the one that tells the story of Noah, If you've not seen these it's a bag that when you turn it inside out tells part of the story in color or design and it changes every time you turn it inside out til you get to the last with has a zipper compartment you can hide little give aways in. I wouldn't begin to make one but it's a self working item.

@ Gladman & saphireSue
Thanks for the idea. I know the story bag but i don't think it's fit for me to use on that day. Since my part is at the end of the show and before me a ventriloquist children pastor will tell a bible story.
