Default New Characters?

Hi all!

I will be helping out with a couple of ministries this summer. One is VBS for our church. We are doing a science lab-type VBS and I will be playing the wacky professor. I have chosen the name "Professor TruLeigh Smart". I have to make and announcement in church this weekend. I will not be fully in clown for this character, just outlandish "nerdy" clothes. I got some old glasses from my grandma, and I have a white lab coat. I was hoping to pick up some plaid pants, ect. at Goodwill. I am supposed to wander out during someone else's annoucement, and be confused thinking VBS was starting right then. (the other announcer will be forwarned and will play along). I as thinking about carrying out a white board with an easel and writing my professor name on it as the other person tries to keep going with her announcement. Any ideas?

Also, I am developing a nursing home clowning character, "Doctor Steffie Scope". I need to get a toy stethescope, I will be going to the nursing home with my son's class next week, and will try to go indepenently after that. Any feedback, or suggestions welcome.

Carrie

I use to have a crazy chemisty teacher who would get very involved in what he was writing on the board.
What if, once you are told VBS is not today, you start almost franticly writing on the board while you explain your theory. Creat a problem and line of logic that is long enought to be funny while writing it in a formula syle. Eventually have the answer equal the date of VBS (I suspect that is your goal in the anouncment) thus proving you ARE in the right place. End it with being veery pleased with yourself and smiling at the person who told you you were there on the wrong day. That person could calmly and slowly say all that is true but today is_________. Shock...check your clander...take to audiance...take to calander...take to audiance with the realization you arre in the wrong place at the wrong time. Deflated and dissapointed appoligeticly retrive your marker board and slink off the stage.

I would think your formula wound have things like John 3:16, the time of VBS, ths siren test of the local fire dept., and other info you want to mention combined with local nonsense.

thanks for asking, I've not twisted any balloons since the spring fling. I have a lot going on lately. My brother might be moving down here from Detroit with his family, and I just got back from a weekend in North Carolina to visit my grandma. AND it's planting time at our little farm.

So, yikes, a little busy! but I'm excited about getting my feet wetter in clowning!

Carrie
