Skit Help!

[Happy Chappy & Daisy]

Hey, Bozos!

We're all preparing a skit (Me, Daisy, and Snickers), and we've hit a snag.

I do something to get Daisy mad at me, and she starts chasing me with a bucket of "water."

Something happens and Snickers ends up with the bucket.

She tries to soak me, and throws confetti all over me, Daisy, and the audience.

You see the problem? That big hole in the middle - how does Snickers end up with the bucket chasing me? Any suggestions?

What if Daisy first gets mad at you, she looks at Snickers and Snickers hands her a squirt bottle. Daisy gets a big smile on her face and prepares to chase you. Snickers tugs her sleeve and once she has Daisy's attention she exchanges the squirt bottle for a glass of water. Daisy gets really happy and starts towards you when Snickers exchanges the glass for the bucket. Daisy starts one last time when she stops and looks at Snickers (This time Snickers didn't even tug at her sleeve) Snickers stops what she is doing and picks up a big hammer and exchanges the bucket for the hammer and motions for Daisy to go now. The chase goes around Snickers a lap or two with Snickers head going bask and forth. She begins to act dizzy, she gets up grabs the bucket in one hand and the glass in the other, drinks the water in the glass and finally motions the two of you to stop. When you do Daisy bumps in to you and about the time you recover Snickers throws the confetti on both of you and storms off.

What about if, during the chase, Snickers does something to transfer Daisy's anger to her, instead. So now Daisy diverts the chase against you and decides to toss the water on Snickers. But before she can accomplish the deed, you do something to intervene and anger Snickers. Now they BOTH are angry at you again and start chasing you and instead of hitting Snickers with the bucket of water she hands it over and they work together to get YOU.

Or, what if Daisy has you cornered. She "winds up" with the bucket, bringing it back behind her to toss forward at you. Then Snickers sneaks up from behind and grabs it out of her hands. Daisy continues to "throw" it, now empty handed. Shocked and upset, she turns around and gets angry at Snickers, who was laughing at her. This gives you an opportunity to escape, sneak up behind Snickers and start laughing at the two of them. Just as Snickers goes to toss the bucket at Daisy in front of her, Daisy sticks out an arm, misdirecting the bucket which gets emptied instead by being tossed over and beyond Snickers' head onto you behind her.

Its about escalation. I think fitz has the right idea but there are still holes.

1) why would daisy reliquish the bucket to snickers?
2) what is snickers doing that catches Daisies attention before the exchange?
3) why is there a hammer when all other weapons are water related?
4) Why is snickers mad?

My turn:

You start with a of cleaning stuff. Daisy and Snickers are "cleaning." You come in and start flirting/messing with them and being a nusiance. You pick up a squirt bottle and act like it is a cowboy six shooter. At one point you get so involved with it, you accidentally shoot Daisy. She gets mad. She quickly stands up and throws down a sponge full of water out of bucket A. It splashes snickers who becomes angry but doesn't do anything and slowly stands up wipeing herself off. Meanwhile Daisy gives you a peice of her mind takes the squirt gun from you and squirts you back. Peferably in the trousers. She laughs. You take the squirt bottle back and shoot her again, but this time she ducks and you miss and hit snickers again but again neither of you notice. As Daisy comes back up she again grabs the bottle but now she takes the top off. YOu run. She chases. Here you can probably figure out different ways to accidentally get Snickers wet. But when it seems like it can go no more, Snickers grabs bucket 'B' the one filled with confetti, and stands in yalls path. You both finally notice her quite wet, and put on the breaks. She looks at you and you back a way. She takes a step forward and you take two steps back she starts into a run and so do you, She chases you around then finally when facing the audience, you do a quick turn and reveal her throwing the bucket, which is filled with confetti. She throws it, and the audience is relieved that they are only getting confettied and not wet. You all three stop and look in horror at what you have done. Then you and Daisy chase Snickers off stage.

Wow! You all have gone above and beyond for this one.

I was just a little too vague at the beginning, I guess. We had an idea for the beginning and for the end, but we were just missing a point of continuity in the middle. (Note that I said had an idea; we're probably going to integrate all of these together into one big uber-skit.)

Here was our original idea:

I'm just doing a little solo clowning with the audience, with a load of cleaning supplies. I'm taking a squirt bottle and a rag and polishing bald heads (I know that at least one person there is bald), faking a sneeze and squirting water over somebody who isn't looking... stuff like that.

After a few minutes, the real skit will start. I put my supplies down on stage (including the bucket), and pick up a picture frame. I tell people this is a picture of Daisy, my "sweetie." She whistles from off-stage (she's a silent clown). I get all excited and jump up and down, and then she enters, carrying a picnic basket. I look at her and look at the picture. I look at her and look at the picture. I hold the picture up next to her. I take off my glasses and clean them... By this time she's getting pretty steamed.

She puts down the basket and starts chasing after me. Snickers (who has entered at some point, but I'm not sure exactly where - maybe I was telling her about Daisy) somehow gets the bucket from her and throws the confetti on me, Daisy, and the crowd.

At this point, Daisy and I team up against Snickers. We each grab a pie from Daisy's picnic basket. We sneak up on either side of her, and she runs back and forth like a runner caught between first and second base. Just when we go to hit her, she ducks and we catch each other with the pies. She makes a grand bow to the audience and we leave.

You see where I needed help. I just couldn't come up with a way to get from Daisy chasing me to Snickers getting the bucket. I really like the suggestions that everyone made, and we're definitely going to use parts of all of them.

Well, some bad news...

After lots of work (and a fair amount of money expended), things all fell through.

Sounds like the problems were a lot bigger than just cancelling your show. Wow, it is a good thing you didn;t get there and get sick yourselves.

Well for what it's worth. use two buckets. your's being the one full of confetti. When the chase ensues, you leave your bucket sitting when you get up to start running. snickers comes walking on scene, see the bucket and decided to join the fray.

Scruffy, I remembered my old magic background, and decided to make a magic bucket - people will see Snickers pour water into the bucket, but she'll toss out dry confetti - whenever we actually do the skit.
