I don't know how many of you deal with helium balloons, but I heard one of the Macy's parade commentators remark about a shortage of the stuff right now. I know I was thinking "there's a shortage of the second most common element in the universe? How?" but apparently several plants aren't currently running, and the U.S. program to produce it is going to shut down for a couple of weeks as well. What next? Latex for balloons and rubber chickens? I always wonder about this stuff. Maybe we need to figure out how to reclaim the stuff from the balloons.
