Upcoming downtime and changes for Clown Forum

In a few days (probably Thursday but I'm not sure yet) I plan to take the forum offline for a few hours in order to switch over to a new software package called vBulletin. vBulletin will be better able to weed out spammers before they join, will make it easier for search engines to index the site, is safer from hackers, and just generally has more bells and whistles.

At that time I also plan to move the forums to the root directory of the site (http://www.clown-forum.com/ as opposed to http://www.clown-forum.com/forum) and put the Articles section in a subdirectory. Because I have to import a big, complicated database it's quite likely it will take longer to finish then I think, and you'll be sure to find things that aren't working properly yet once I get the forums back online. But it's better that we make the switch now before Clown Forum gets even bigger! So bear with me, everybody. It may get a little buggy around here for a while but in the long run it should be worth it.
