[Willace-the-Clown]: hey Vivi-ann
[Vivi-Ann]: hey just figgering this out
[Vivi-Ann]: how long have any of you'all abeen clownin
[joey the clown]: About 6 years here
[Vivi-Ann]: wowee - what made you take the plunge?
[Fitzwilly]: 17 pounds, that is great! Are you doing anything special? Or just staying away from the junk food?
[Willace-the-Clown]: i eat better
[Willace-the-Clown]: like for snacks i have a bowl of circal
[Fitzwilly]: I have been clowning almost 19 years.
[joey the clown]: It was less of a plunge and more of a gradual fall from childhood
[Willace-the-Clown]: usely its something like Rasin brand or Frosted mini wheats
[Vivi-Ann]: so fitz ... what types clown do you do?
[Willace-the-Clown]: next month will start my third year
[Willace-the-Clown]: Auguste from what i seen
[Vivi-Ann]: congrats willace....
[joey the clown]: ok, I'm changing my color so as to see what I've typed better, it has nothing to do with my desire to stand out...
[Willace-the-Clown]: thanks Vivi-Ann
[Fitzwilly]: I am an Auguste. I started as a whiteface but my character has always been a bit on the goofy side.
[joey the clown]: Sorry, that color was to abrasive
[Vivi-Ann]: k joey - fuschia is always a fave of mine
[Willace-the-Clown]: Fitzwilly im a whight face but im on he goofy side
[Fitzwilly]: Joey, you figured out the color change a lot faster than I did.
[Willace-the-Clown]: Comady Whiteface
[joey the clown]: Hehe, I'm a nerd
[Vivi-Ann]: I guess I am a character clown mostly - but I have whiteface type "outfits" when folks want and expect more "normal" clown -
[joey the clown]: or a Nurd depending on where in the U.S. I am
[Willace-the-Clown]: im a few differit kinds of Clowns
[Jamz]: Im an auguste and tramp and now have a nerd character
[Willace-the-Clown]: im a whiteface a tramp a halloween clown & a Hosptile Clown
[Fitzwilly]: Did I see that you went to the New York Goofs last year?
[Jamz]: Ilike your mod costume you would fit right in at our convention in July it is a 60,s theme
[Vivi-Ann]: when is this conventions? where?
[Vivi-Ann]: and yes .... I went to NY Goofs last summer after 1 year of just blundering out and around on my own...
[Jamz]: July 26 to the 29th in Northampton mass
[Vivi-Ann]: OOOOOOOOooooooo .... this might be a possible ... I will be back from Missoula by then ...oooooooo
[Willace-the-Clown]: i would post this redneck kind of Char i have i dont play him any hwere but i cant cuz he has a Cig
[Jamz]: check out pvca225.org and click on clownstockfor a look at the lineup
[Fitzwilly]: Did you meet a friend of mine? Carmen Tellez from L.A.
[Fitzwilly]: "Charm" the clown.
[Vivi-Ann]: I don't think so.... but I would have to check ... did she stay the 2 weeks?
[Fitzwilly]: I think she went in 2006 and not 2005.
[Jamz]: be back in a few minutes wife need the computer for a couple of mins
[Vivi-Ann]: those spousal units :cat:
[Fitzwilly]: She did. I'm trying to think of some of the other names she mentioned.
[Vivi-Ann]: NY Goofs was a super experience ... very challenging. there was one morning I felt like taking the R train to outer Long island rather than to Tribeca as I had been sucking day after day ...
[Vivi-Ann]: It took me 1.5 weeks to get a laugh out of Larry Pisoni ...
[Fitzwilly]: From what I have heard that group has a very unique way of looking at the world of clowning.
[Vivi-Ann]: I don't think it is unique .. but more fundamental .... what is on the "insides" of clowning, rather than all the flash dash and pizzazz on the "outside" .... although John Lepiarz from Big Apple was there for juggling etc
[Fitzwilly]: I teach at MooseCamp with Mark Renfro. A great guy but there is a big difference between the circus guys that have gone into theatre clowning verses the ones that do more of the hometown style.
[Willace-the-Clown]: Fitzwilly i would like to go there
[Willace-the-Clown]: a Clown friend i met in person met Percilla
[Vivi-Ann]: I can imagine. But the NY Goofs school isn't just about theater clowning ... more about helping you develop whatever skillls you need to be the clown you want'
[Vivi-Ann]: I have thought about Moosecamp ... but are there big Mooseskeeters there in the summer?
[Fitzwilly]: Your speaking of the "insides" made me think. You are right they discect the art of clowning in an Eastern meditating sort of way and examine the essence.
[Willace-the-Clown]: im practuseing Jugleing some i would liketo learn it
[Vivi-Ann]: I hope you are less hopeless Willace than I, the ViviAnn, the one ball juggler
[Vivi-Ann]: although I did find practicing to music helped - got a rhythm going
[Fitzwilly]: We only lost three campers last year. Two we never say again after the skeeters carried them away and the third...well the mooseskeeter sucked him dry. The wind came up and the dust went everywhere.
[Willace-the-Clown]: im doing two balls i do only im still a bit slow but most of the time i catch them & sometimes i drop my balls
[Willace-the-Clown]: i also learning to juggle skarfs
[joey the clown]: Scarves may not translate to balls well
[Vivi-Ann]: one of my Goofs classmates, actually two, were ace jugglers but they had been at it forever...
[Fitzwilly]: I have a few educational places on my list to get to in the next couple of years. NY Goofs is one.
[joey the clown]: I'm also looking for the next big educational resource
[Vivi-Ann]: Fitz - rofl on the moooseskeeters ....
[Fitzwilly]: Hey Joey, welcome back. I thought maybe the font color got to your eyes and you couldn't see to type.
[Vivi-Ann]: my question is: is there any trick or strategy to get "up" enough for clowning when you feel like shxx ... as I have yet to hear of clowns that get sick days .... my last gig I had walloping earache and had a hard time of it feeling "on". generally got positive feedback, but didn't feel I did a stellar job. comments?
[joey the clown]: Sorry was going to jump into the convo about character types with witty banter but got distracted.
[Fitzwilly]: The last couple of years the mooseskeeters have not been too bad. We moved to a new place. One with air conditioning and right on the lake. Very nice.
[joey the clown]: You need a low key opening act for those days, something to engage the audience and get them to like you, it'll make you feel alot better about being onstage
[Fitzwilly]: Yeah, I understand. I have trouble with witty banter myself. I usually stick with the inane.
[Vivi-Ann]: joey - great tip ... it is like when I am busking on the boardwalk with little kids - need a low key bit to put them at ease, in this other instance it would be to help me put me at ease
[joey the clown]: Thats what I do anyway, my first hugemungus gig was while a girlfriend was in the hospital, I didn't feel at all like being a happy clown that day but the reaction from the kid's got me fired up...
[Vivi-Ann]: yeah thats the clown magic ... did any of you all see Slavas Snow Show?
[joey the clown]: Sometimes I think I should develop an Emo Kid character.
[Fitzwilly]: I'll be back in a couple of minutes. Hope my computer doesn't feel neglected and log me off again like it did earlier.
[Vivi-Ann]: well as Vivi .... she is a kid character who is sort of like a child savant...
[Willace-the-Clown]: Joey i do voloteering at hospitles
[joey the clown]: Thats cool, I used to, should take it up again
[Vivi-Ann]: that is great Willace .. I am about to start as part of a clown-dog therapy team.... and my stomach is doing flipflops ....
[Willace-the-Clown]: yeai go by the name Scrubs the clown
[Vivi-Ann]: does Scrubs the clown wear clown scrubs? ?
[Willace-the-Clown]: yea i have pics of me as Scrubs on this Forum under the hospitle thred
[Vivi-Ann]: will have to check those pix out.
[Willace-the-Clown]: i wear Scrubs & a lab coat & i have glasses & a stethascope
[Vivi-Ann]: all hail the princess of bozonia
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: hi all!
[joey the clown]: Hello Princess
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: welcome vivi
[Vivi-Ann]: Vivi wants to know how many crowns the princess has...
[Willace-the-Clown]: hey Princess
[Willace-the-Clown]: i got good news
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: I get a new one every time the old one pops
[Vivi-Ann]: whats the good news willace?
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: what is it Willace?
[Willace-the-Clown]: got a new Van im not stuck at home anymore
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: welcome to you too joey
[Vivi-Ann]: well that is definitely a plus.... {she of the 12+ yr old SUV on its 3rd transmission speaking}
[joey the clown]: thanks you?
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: that's great Willace
[joey the clown]: geese that was quite a time with the key board.
[joey the clown]: I'm on a laptop with itty bitty buttons
[Gladman]: evening folks
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: hey Glad, you made it
[Vivi-Ann]: {giggle} joey - thats why I want a tablet ....
[Gladman]: short time tonight, I gotta have my clown fix
[joey the clown]: like a stone tablet? With a chistle?
[Gladman]: Willace, Congrats on the new van
[Vivi-Ann]: yeah joey and furry rabbit ears for wireless connections
[Willace-the-Clown]: thanks Glad man
[joey the clown]: Thats awesome
[Gladman]: Can I bum a ride sometime?
[Willace-the-Clown]: well see
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: joey did you know they make external fullsize keyboards? Maybe that would help... or voice recognition
[joey the clown]: Voice recognition could be fun to goof with.
[Vivi-Ann]: I used to think voice recognition was silly, but now it makes sense with all sorts of devisces
[Vivi-Ann]: however my cell phone has yet to learn my voice very well ... It doesnt understand when I say "yes"
[joey the clown]: So I'm thinking of NY Goofs in august, but 2 weeks is a long time to stay in New York expensive anyway...
[Vivi-Ann]: well there is the option of oinly doing 1 week of Goofs ... and there is a B&B convenient on Subway that charges "reasonable" for NYC, but still that is about 150 a nite...
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: on one of my old computers, the voice recognition program always misunderstood a certain person's name as "toilet"
[Gladman]: Ha
[joey the clown]: Holy Canoly, I just reaised the goofs are almost 1,500 bucks
[Gladman]: So who needed to be taught the computer or you
[Vivi-Ann]: yeah, but one week is only 800 or so....
[Periwinkle]:
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: hi ibimus!
[Willace-the-Clown]: hey Dottie hey Periwinkle
[Gladman]: Hey dots
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: and Peri!
[Vivi-Ann]: going to Goofs was like going back to "college", tuition room and board, it was * cheapter than my grad school tuition though
[Gladman]: Hey periwinkle
[ibimus]: Hello hello! Fogot there was a chat tonight!
[ibimus]: Her Periwinkle!
[Periwinkle]: heyheyhey
[Gladman]: how could you?
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: how could yo possibly forget us?
[ibimus]: ..................sorry......
[Gladman]: get up off the fooor, we forgive you hugs
[Willace-the-Clown]: i wouldhave told you but you were out wiht Food
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: teasing, teasing!
[ibimus]: For 4 hours! haha! all that just to make a salad and mac&cheese.
[joey the clown]: it wasn't minute rice?
[Periwinkle]: :cat:
[Vivi-Ann]: so Glad - you use a puppet at the hospital ... any issues with germs and a puttppett?
[ibimus]: Alas, no minute rice. I feel guilty enough for making mac&cheese form a box. but it was yummy!
[Gladman]: We're quite a group.........
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: Quick, let's go through his pockets
[Fitzwilly]: I'm back.
[Fitzwilly]: I'm trying to find a background that allows me to see everyones color clearly.
[Willace-the-Clown]: i cant see what you said
[Gladman]: u b kinda faint
[Vivi-Ann]: faint ... I would call it invissible
[ibimus]: Fitz, your type font colour is very difficult to read. it pretty much blends into the background.
[Willace-the-Clown]: yea only Green smiles
[Fitzwilly]: Where Am I? I thought I sent a post
[ibimus]: There you are!
[Gladman]: Anybody ever watch the original "Invisable Man"?
[ibimus]: Quick! Find a map, and look for the "you are here" dot.
[ibimus]: Invisible Man.....wasn't that a comic book?
[Vivi-Ann]: yeah I did.... when I was a child without much a sense of humor ... {sad but true"
[Gladman]: Old movie
[Gladman]: He was bad
[Vivi-Ann]: very old movie, and I guess that dates me some
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: hi Sue!
[ibimus]: Hi Sue!
[Fitzwilly]: I'm back and I caught up with all the discussion while
[Gladman]: Hey Susan
[Fitzwilly]: I was gone.
[Gladman]: Been covering some deep stuff
[Vivi-Ann]: how deeP was it?
[Fitzwilly]: It was so deep...
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: not much fun to date yourself with an old movie... movies are much more fun with another person
[saphireSue]: Howdy all
[joey the clown]: Sorry all that talk about food reminded me that I had to clean up from dinner
[ibimus]: I watched Green Street Hooligans the other night. I was a little disappointed. it's about British football (ahem. the real term for soccer. ) firms. Much more violent and more vulgar than I expected. Blech. Too bad to, since most of the actors were pretty cute.
[Fitzwilly]: Hello Sue.
[saphireSue]: What did I miss?
[Gladman]: I'm off to a family reunion in Maryland in the AM. 6 days off
[Vivi-Ann]: those brit footballers ... can be pretty crude ... there was agroup that kept me up nites at my Hotel in Kettering ... at pub closing they would just yelll and holler and get on
[Gladman]: Jams! You're here!
[joey the clown]: Thats awesome I'm in maryland, don't bring a coat.
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: Willacegot a new van
[saphireSue]: Howdy Jamz
[Fitzwilly]: We were discussing Einstein's Theory of Relativity.
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: hi Jamz!
[Gladman]: May get some rain I hear
[ibimus]: Vivi, are you in England?
[Gladman]: Did he know about the string theory?
[Vivi-Ann]: ist that the theory of "teehee=emcee squared?
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: and discover we're all related... in theory
[Jamz]: Im baaaaaaaaack
[Vivi-Ann]: Not in England now. was last summer. didn't get much sleep.
[joey the clown]: no idear about the rain
[saphireSue]: Oh, Einstein's Theroy of Relativity, He was a southern ya know that pertains to everone down here being related to each other
[Gladman]: I'm my own grand pa, as the song goes
[Vivi-Ann]: or the theory that the more massive U R , the more energy you need? don't think that pertains to clowns though
[ibimus]: Ah. Well, no more late-night pub parties then.
[joey the clown]: Hula Hoop skirts don't count
[Vivi-Ann]: don't mind the pub parties ibimius.... as long as they arent carried down the street at 2 am
[Gladman]: Eventually we all implode
[saphireSue]: Well I do have a cousin who's daughter ran off with her 4th / 5th husband and took custody of the twins
[Jamz]: the theory of relativity is the more money you have the more relatives show up
[Willace-the-Clown]: i woke up at 10 this morning jsut to go to my grand mothers to get out of the hosue
[Vivi-Ann]: now that is innesting Sue, and Jamz is right about the money and relatives, although for some it don't have to be much money
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: ahh, I think Jamz has it
[ibimus]: Haha Jamz! How true!
[Gladman]: I mat a nurse who was married 6 times, to only two different men..............go figure
[Vivi-Ann]: maybe she just wanted some free new china and had another wedding for the haulage
[Jamz]: Im the only one in my family that has only been married once Iguess Im too lazy to train another
[saphireSue]: unfortunately some really beleive that about southerners,
[Gladman]: Said she was moral, and would,'t let them stay overnight unless they were married
[Vivi-Ann]: unfortunately for some of us southerners its a little too true
[Fitzwilly]: Anyone looking forward to a busy weekend? I am doing a parade Monday morning, a birthday party in the afternoon and an event for the city Tuesday afternoon.
[saphireSue]: my brother and his wife are foster parents and have had two infants one boy and one girl not related about 3 weeks apart in age, my brother started telling people they were twins, when they question the age, he tells them one got stuck
[Jamz]: wifes on vaction so Im taking the week off too
[Vivi-Ann]: looking forward to the time my weekends will be that busy
[Gladman]: Twisting balloons, tug of war, etc at the reunion
[ibimus]: Busy weekend at work for me.......Fitz, your weekend sounds like a lot more fun!
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: well even if it's true southerners are in good company... the royal fammilies of Europe are pretty inbred too

[Fitzwilly]: I do. But I think I need to renew. I just read your post about getting the latest issue.

[Jamz]: like the ones you wear for cancer awareness
[joey the clown]: I'm saying something so as to not be logged out, please disregard this message.
[saphireSue]: Did you see anything in there about it being for the new assoc. or oranization?
[Vivi-Ann]: like the pink breast cancer or red HIV ones, IC what color would clown supoort be?
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: ok, everyone ignore joey's message!

[Vivi-Ann]: that is a good Idea willice... my clown "show" of 3-1/2 minutes is going to be about how WRONG it is to dislke clowns.
[Willace-the-Clown]: i was thinking it would be cool to get alot of Support our Clowns Ribbion Magnets to put on Cars & give them out to the Alley for Christmas & give them out for the next Chritmas Exchange
[Willace-the-Clown]: cool
[saphireSue]: exchange.....did any one find a use for my hillbilly flashlight?
[Fitzwilly]: Vivi, is your bit part of a larger show? If so is there a larger theme?
[Willace-the-Clown]: i plan to use it For Hobo Bob
[Jamz]: yes Itook it to the campground and it was a big hit

[saphireSue]: that's all right vivi, he can alway tease back. my hubby's alway coming up with cute [adult themed] clown names for himself..... I can never let him out in public..
[Vivi-Ann]: he likes it OK ... he says at least I not a dull woman in a rut
[Willace-the-Clown]: she tells my parints suppporting me being a clown is like Supporting a serial killer of what he wants to do for a liveing
[Vivi-Ann]: rofl willace
[Fitzwilly]: I was trying to see the picture on the left but my connection is slow and refused to finish loading.
[Willace-the-Clown]: what pic
[Vivi-Ann]: btw ... I am *still* ignoring joey
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: a photoshopped picture of a guy looking at a clown on a computer screen while drinking "clown immunity" soda
[Fitzwilly]: Looks like you are doing a good job.
[Fitzwilly]: Thanks Princess
[Vivi-Ann]: willace these folks make magnets of "support ribbons" ....http://www.supportourribbons.com/
[saphireSue]: Hey I've got a Spiderman theme birthday for a 4 yr old end of June around 15 kids. any suggestions, I'm planing on turning them into spidermen
[Fitzwilly]: How about tying them up in webbing and then going after the cake?.
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: silly string as webbing
[saphireSue]: silly string mmm wonder if I can some how shoot it out of my change bag?
[Vivi-Ann]: and willace: theset folks print on dots ribbon ... but U have to order about 100 yd at a time... but that would be a lot of clown support.
[Jamz]: silly string can ruin your wig if it gets on it
[Vivi-Ann]: oh here is the URL for dotted custom printing:<br>http://www.jkmribbon.com/offray/dots.html
[Willace-the-Clown]: yea
[Fitzwilly]: You could use Professor's Nightmare. You have three different lengths of webbing. There were supposed to be the same lengths but they got messed up. Then you use a bit of magic to make all the "spider webbing" the same length.
[saphireSue]: cool. theme, on a familar trick
[Fitzwilly]: Speaking of your change bag. Load one side with Spidey colors and the other side with Venom colors then through out the show if something doesn't work right show that Venom is causing a problem and the children need to use their magic to help Spidey make it work.
[saphireSue]: neat, I usually have them help me make popcorn, which I really like to do, but I could use that some where
[Jamz]: they sell the two colors spidy heads balloons that you could use
[saphireSue]: I check them out, it was the most request face design at the last festival
[saphireSue]: got to order more paint, balloons and make up, things are getting low...
[Jamz]: Iwent thru 4bags in a month
[saphireSue]: Haven't seen the movie, but even did a black one with them telling me about the eyes
[Vivi-Ann]: that means U were busy
[saphireSue]: Monkey hitchhikers have been popular, and they take so many brown.
[Jamz]: thak god the pirate movie is comming out so its back to swords and pirate hats for awhile
[saphireSue]: or every one just want brown ones
[Jamz]: Ilove doing hitchikers they are easy and people love them
[saphireSue]: Harry Potter's new movie is due out to
[Fitzwilly]: I painted a high schooler or opening night. Since he shaved his head especially for the premier and was planning on wearing it for about 10 hours I used greesepaint. Half red and half black, right down the center.
[saphireSue]: they'r impressive and don't take to long, I like the Alein head
[saphireSue]: cool
[Fitzwilly]: The cool thing was I got to play with a metallic powder that Mehron has. I mixed it with Liqui-Set and painted on the webbing. It makes a real bright silver.
[Jamz]: Itell them itdsan allien brainsucker and do you know whats its doing starving
[Jamz]: parents always laugh at that
[saphireSue]: The last year my middle girl did competition dance, I started doing designs on their face with my ben nye , and they won a few awards for design costume [but I think it was the face that did it,because they had never gotten those type before]
[saphireSue]: I started taking a 360 an making a teddy bear head for my hitcher body, seems to do OK
[Vivi-Ann]: gotta go - cat feeding, etc, and all . hope to be insync next week. ciao.
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: I've got to go, night all
[Willace-the-Clown]: bye
[Fitzwilly]: I thought N-sync broke up. Are you gonna be their lead singer or just their lead clown?
[Vivi-Ann]: now I have to figure out hwo to logoff......... can't be that hard.
[Fitzwilly]: Good night Princess.
[The_Princess_of_Bozonia]: someone who spells ciao correctly!
[Vivi-Ann]: just the lead clown .... in the revivial tour .... in maybe 10 yrs?????
[Jamz]: nite
[Fitzwilly]: It must be the pizza. Sounds like a good excuse to have another slice myself.
[Vivi-Ann]: well I studied commedia dell arte and had to learn a spot of italeian
[Vivi-Ann]: she can spell ciao but not italian
[Jamz]: do you really need excuses for pizza
[Fitzwilly]: So, you were telling a "tale"
[Willace-the-Clown]: im painting up a new clown ribbion
[Fitzwilly]: Not me. Papa Johns is on speed Dial.
[saphireSue]: Dominos
[Fitzwilly]: It has been a long time since I've had Dominos
[Jamz]: I dont eat chain pizza
[Jamz]: little greek mom and pop place here makes the best pizza ever
[saphireSue]: I was just checking out ebay ... I like to see if I can luck up on anythng...there seem to be more and more people making clown costumes that well look pretty much cookie cutter and some down right unclowny
[Fitzwilly]: Wow! First pizza out of Dominos and now out of chains. Oh, I'll take two large with extra cheese and mushrooms...
[saphireSue]: it's the only one that delivers here
[saphireSue]: don't forget the pepperoni
[Fitzwilly]: Pretty soon the cost of delivery will cost more than the pizza.
[saphireSue]: in college, we'd go out for salad at a steak house with a salad bar, every one had an item to bring back, them biscuit dough and home make pizza the next night
[Fitzwilly]: I'm going to be distracted for a little while. I've got a few things to clean and straighten before I forget.
[saphireSue]: mmmmmmmmmmmmmm OK
[Jamz]: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzz
[saphireSue]: mm, tea, pizza, surfing ......
[Willace-the-Clown]: hey everyone i finished makeing my spare ribbion
[saphireSue]: Wake up
[Jamz]: Ionce slept on a diesel engine that was running banging pans aint going to work
[Willace-the-Clown]: how can someone do that
[Fitzwilly]: I'm working on a spare tire. During the day I'm working on taking it off with exercise and tonight I'm putting it back on with a small dish of ice creeam.
[saphireSue]: ooooo watch out.......splat ... ugggg
[saphireSue]: double chocolate?
[Fitzwilly]: Moosetracks
[ibimus]: whew! that was a long cup of tea!
[Willace-the-Clown]: i like Pistashio
[Willace-the-Clown]: must have Drank it slow
[ibimus]: I haven't seen human civilization all day, so mostly I sat around yakking with Renee and Pete. Chatted about food stuff with Renee, whined about the magazine with Pete.....
[Fitzwilly]: I'm a little behind. What magazine?
[Willace-the-Clown]: ok
[ibimus]: my brother is the editor at this new sci-fi magazine, and I was recently recruited to help with the layoutf or the upcoming issues. www.bbtmagazine.com
[Fitzwilly]: Did you hear the joke about the Butcher?
[ibimus]: the editor-in-chief sent me some silly program to try and use for the layout, but it really doesn't work, so now i'm in a pickle. Good ol' PSP8, here I come!
[Fitzwilly]: He was a little behind in his work...
[ibimus]: and?
[Willace-the-Clown]: im still waitng for this months issue of the new Claliape
[Fitzwilly]: I'm trying to pull up the web site now. Is the mag to talk about new releases by old favorites or is it an outlet for beginners trying to get something published?
[saphireSue]: Did you hear about the disaster at the airport?
[Fitzwilly]: Let me write it this way..."He HAD a little behind in his work..."
[saphireSue]: a overly large woman backed up to one of the propellers and it dis-as-her...
[ibimus]: um. well, it's sort of both, sort of neither. it releases short stories by writers, interviews (my brother interviewed Neil Gaimen for the first issue), loads of satarical humour, and some pretty awesome artwork.
[Fitzwilly]: What disaster?
[Fitzwilly]: Very Good.
[ibimus]: Ew......
[ibimus]: Or should I say, Ewe?
[Fitzwilly]: You've got me Dottie. I thought I was fairly well read in the Sci-Fi / Fantasy relm but I don't recognize Neil.
[ibimus]:
[saphireSue]: Well, go to go to work in the am. See ya next wk
[ibimus]: Neil Gaiman=God. (okay, not quite. But pretty darn close!) Neil wrote American Gods, which is a very popular book. His latest is Anasi Boys.
[ibimus]: Byeee Sue!
[Fitzwilly]: See ya around Sue. Watch out for propellers.
[ibimus]: He often teams up with Terry Pratchett as well, which equals an amazingly weird, funny experience.
[ibimus]: Neil is also an extremely wonderful person (met him at a book signing a couple years ago....chatted about pens. what a guy!), and is from England originally, he now lives in Mineappolis.
[Fitzwilly]: Pratchett I'm familiar with. I have worked through a fair number of the Discworld novels.
[Willace-the-Clown]: bye sue
[ibimus]: Have you read Going Postal? That's a good one!
[Fitzwilly]: Very Funny.
[Willace-the-Clown]: monkeys have tails Apes dont
[Jamz]: my daughter just got a book published calledRavens Song its a fantasy
[ibimus]: well, if you like Terry, you'd definately lik Neil. He was pretty awesome. He originally turned down the magazine's interview request because his schedule was filled up (it was the end f the year), and he wasn't accepting offers from any more small magazines. So, my brother offered to conduct the interview in any dead language of his (Neil's) choice. He accepted. The interview was incredbly stupid,s hort, and hysterical! Oh, and it was done in Meroitic, which is a dead language from the Sudan.
[ibimus]: Raven's Song? I'll look it up!
[Fitzwilly]: This is more on the historical fantasy side, but I just found a new author by the name of Naomi Novik. She...
[ibimus]: Congrats to your daughter!
[Fitzwilly]: Jamz, that is great.
[Jamz]: dragonflamme.com
[Fitzwilly]: I'll look it up.
[ibimus]: Thanks for the URL Jamz. It looks interesting.
[Willace-the-Clown]: very nice looking
[Fitzwilly]: Is it just me or are the number of postings slowing on the Forum?
[ibimus]: the forum is rather slow these days.....
[Willace-the-Clown]: WB Jamz
[Jamz]: summer time it always slows down
[Fitzwilly]: About every night I try to stick my head in and see what is new, but...
[Fitzwilly]: I guess that is because life speeds up.
[Willace-the-Clown]: WB Again
[Jamz]: a lot of clowns are getting busy about now so they dont check in so often
[Fitzwilly]: Don't they know that their first allegiance is to the Forum and their Princess?
[Jamz]: well sometimes Ilike to pay the morgage for my wife so she can go shopping with her money and buy me things
[Jamz]: but I STILL TRY TO CHECK OUT THE FORUM
[Fitzwilly]: Good point. Kudos to Jamz
[Willace-the-Clown]: can i have money
[Fitzwilly]: "Sha Na Na na Sha na na na na , Get a Job" Who sang that song?
[ibimus]: tomorrow is payday! hooray! that means I'm going grocery shopping
[ibimus]: Fitz, I belive that's a classic sung by....my dad! hahaha!
[Jamz]: Ibelive my father sang it a lot too
[Fitzwilly]: Yours too?
[ibimus]: I thinks it's included in the "fatherly handbook"
[Jamz]: he didnt belive boys should stay in school they shoud be working
[Fitzwilly]: I don't need one of those yet.
[ibimus]: my dad belives in multitasking and doing both. he wants me to go to college so I can get a really high-paying job so I can, (and I quote.) "support him in his old age."
[Willace-the-Clown]: what he think when you became a clown
[Fitzwilly]: Just tell him clowning IS a high paying job. No wait. If you do that he may not get to old age.
[ibimus]: (he's a clown at heart; he loved it. I have the best dad. bar none.)
[ibimus]: Hahaha!
[ibimus]: Well, Fitz, I just assure him that he's already old and is doing just fine without my financial support.
[Willace-the-Clown]: i met Jamz
[Jamz]: he passedaway before Ibecame a clown but he stopped me from becomming one when Iwas a kid Ihad a chance to go with the clyde beety and cole bros but he would sign the papers because Iwasnt going to get paid only room and board for awhile
[Jamz]: wouldnt sign them
[Willace-the-Clown]: sucks
[ibimus]: aw. I'm sorry.
[Jamz]: thats why it took 30 yrs for me to do it and only because of my wife
[ibimus]: well, it was obviously meant to be, even if it did take a while!
[Jamz]: my wife is my biggest supporter and biggest critic
[Willace-the-Clown]: my parints Support me
[Fitzwilly]: Lost another post. We all need some support. It ain;t all peaches and cream.
[Jamz]: no it can be a lot of hard work but the end results are worth it and not just the money part
[Willace-the-Clown]: & at times it feels like you wont make it
[Fitzwilly]: True. So true.
[Jamz]: we all been there but if you keep going it does happen
[Willace-the-Clown]: yea
[Willace-the-Clown]: i told dottie about getting spending money dureing Collage my Clowning
[Jamz]: Iknow a kid that has his money for clooage already by clowning and stilwalking
[Jamz]: collage
[Willace-the-Clown]: ill never get on stilts
[ibimus]: My parents don't support me financially, but they are my biggest fans, and thats' all I need some days. You know those days, when you feel like you're just terrible at everything? That's when parents can be so amazing. My mom is totally willing to listen to me rant, whine, or just act pitiful. Especially when I was full-time in theatre.....after 12+ hours at the theatre, knowing that I could come home and regardless of what the director said that day, my parents would say, "you do just fine.".
[ibimus]: and that's all it takes.
[ibimus]: I'm so excited! They booked their flight out here in August! wooohooooo!!!!! I haven't seen mom and dad since the very beginning of March.......that's a long time!
[Willace-the-Clown]: Dotie i get those days alot
[Fitzwilly]: That is great. I don't know what my Brother and Sister inlaw have planned for my neice and nephew but now that they are getting up there is years (this year makes six and eight) I plan to start teaching them the important things in life. A few balloons, a bit of magic, a little juggling...
[ibimus]: mostly I had those days when everything at rehearsal just went bad. Choreography was wrong, everyone was out of step, we all forgot our cues, our props, or costumes, we ran out of _____ (fill in the blank. nails, screws, luon, canvas, etc....) during set construction........the list goes on. bad bad days, but mom and dad made it better.
[ibimus]: My nephew will be born in July, so I'm pretty excited to have a little baby around. he'll be clowning before he can walk! (and he'll grow up to be an opera singer, if I have anything to do with it. )
[Jamz]: my grand daughter is a clown and her brother is learning magic
[Willace-the-Clown]: my sister wants to be an aunt
[ibimus]: Jamz, that's fantastic! how old are they?
[Jamz]: he came upstairs last night looking like my new nerd charater and said he was my mimi me
[Jamz]: she is 16 and he is 11
[ibimus]: Hahaha!
[Jamz]: he found the same shirt and pants that I use
[ibimus]: Well good! Get them started out young!
[Jamz]: she likes the fact that her friends have to work all week and dont make what she does on a weekend
[Fitzwilly]: I think I will say good night. I have a few emails to return before I have a short conversation with my pillow. Take care good people.
[ibimus]: and I bet she has a LOT more fun at what she does!
[ibimus]: Fitz, have a good weekend! Good night!
[Jamz]: goodnight Fitz
[Jamz]: and she is fantastic with kids
[ibimus]: do you know if she plans to seriously (um. no pun intended. or irony.) pursue this as her career, or is she going to go parttime for college and such?
[Jamz]: she will go partime for collage but she says shes too young to know what she really wants to do yet
[ibimus]: Smart of her to say so! I wish I had been that wise and level-headed at 16. (heck, a year later, and I'm still not that level-headed! good for her!)
[Jamz]: right now school is a lot of pressure because she has to keep a b to keep her scolarship and a b in that school is 95
[ibimus]: a B is 95? Yikes! That must be some school!
[Jamz]: its a private christian school
[ibimus]: quite the standards they have.
[Jamz]: very tough to get in and very tough to stay in
[Willace-the-Clown]: As long i didn't get a F everything was fine with my parints
[Jamz]: if it wasnt for the full scolarship she wouldnt be going ther
[Jamz]: 13000a yr
[ibimus]: Oh my. The second largest university here in MN is roughly 13,000 per year, and that includes tuition, room and board, and books. Thank goodness for that scholarship!
[ibimus]: (Willace, lucky you! My parents frowned upon anything lower than a B.)
[Jamz]: Idont rember my parents ever looking at my report cards
[Jamz]: as long as we were out of the house for the day
[Willace-the-Clown]: ABCD were all fine jsut no Fs
[ibimus]: being homeschooled, sadly, I never could get away with "forgetting" the report on the bus. (of course, playing sick didnt work either.)
[ibimus]: I got a C once.....my mom made me redo the lesson. (okay, the bad grade was becuase another homeschooled friend was over and I spent the whole time talking to her instead of paying attention to the math. whoops!)
[Jamz]: well time for me to say goodnight Iwont be here next week so see you the following week goodnight
[ibimus]: Aw, Jamz, we'll miss you next week! Have a good one!!
[Willace-the-Clown]: i was never homed schooled
[ibimus]: I was. preschool up through graduation from highschool.
[ibimus]: and hopefully I'll homeschool my own kids someday too.
[Willace-the-Clown]: why home scholl
[ibimus]: public schools weren't good enough (in my parents opinion. they woudln't have suited us anyway. the first school that met my brother wanted him on Ritalin, and they would've tried the same on me.) and plus we move around so much that it was just easier than trying to change schools every two or three years. we honestly got a better education being home schooled, and both of us graduated at age 16. not a bad deal!
[Willace-the-Clown]: when i was in the 1st grade i was put on ritalin & became suasidel
[ibimus]: yep, that's becuase it's the same as taking halluceginians. (however that's spelled! ). Kids dont' need to be drugged for school. that just proves that the schools are poorly run.
[Willace-the-Clown]: my mom took me off it but told my sisiter i was still on it & as log as she thought i was she said i was good
[ibimus]: ooh, sneaky sneaky!
[Willace-the-Clown]: cuz my mom told her she took me off & she started saying i was running around causeing trouble & then mom said she put me on it again & all of a sudden im doing good again
[ibimus]: ah, I see
[Willace-the-Clown]: plus i had a 50 % hearing loss so she sat on my bad side
[ibimus]: drugs are so complicated. and stupid.
[ibimus]: Hugs, not drugs!
[Willace-the-Clown]: lol
[Willace-the-Clown]: yea that saying been around for years
[ibimus]: 'cause it's true!
[Willace-the-Clown]: i dont get many hugs
[ibimus]:
[Willace-the-Clown]: i havent been huged by a girl in over 2 yars
[Willace-the-Clown]: or by anyone i dont think
[ibimus]: um. hugs from guys count too.
[ibimus]: Mitch hugged me the other day, but that was mostly becuase he felt bad for jumping on my foot. hahaha!
[Willace-the-Clown]: like i said i dont reember being hugs a long time last time i remember geting a hug was dureing the earth day thing
[ibimus]: Hooray for earth day!
[Willace-the-Clown]: i was Willace & the hugger was a lil kid
[ibimus]: aw. hooray kids!
[Willace-the-Clown]: yea took me by serprise
[ibimus]: off topic: have you ever tried Orbitz Mint Mojito gum? It's delicious!
[Willace-the-Clown]: no i hardly chew gum i hardly eat junk food anymore
[ibimus]: oooh, gum doesn't count! :d
[ibimus]:
[Willace-the-Clown]: im not a gum chewer
[ibimus]: I was trying to quit caffeine (unsuccessful) and took up gum instead....still a caffeine freak. Now i"m just a gum-chewing caffeine freak. :P haha!
[ibimus]: noooo thank you!
[Willace-the-Clown]: why
[ibimus]: becuase I am trying to cut candy out completely.
[Willace-the-Clown]: its ok sometimes
[ibimus]: yeah, I guess. I prefer dried fruit or popcorn any day over candy though.
[Willace-the-Clown]: yea i only eat candy every few months
[Willace-the-Clown]: but always in october mostly spooky eats it while he passes it out
[ibimus]: well then it's acceptable.
[Willace-the-Clown]: lol yea
[Willace-the-Clown]: its like if there is a big bolw of candy it calls you with is Siren song to eat it
[ibimus]: hahaha!
[ibimus]: well, it's getting late, and I have loads of work to do tomorrow, so I'm gong to go. talk to you later!
[ibimus]: going*
[Willace-the-Clown]: ok night

I missed the part of the chat where Willace mentioned losing 17 pounds so wanted to offer my congratulations! Many of my friends have struggled with weight loss and it is no easy task, so good work Willace!
