I started to perform with two personalitys. So I looked for a name in which there were two single names in for both caracters as well. So I came up with OkiDoki. I like to go along with the ideas coming out of my audience. I like saying Yes. "okidoki" is in The Netherlands also said when you want to say: "Yes, I'll do it". So there you go.

My daddy said I was his lil Sonshine. My mommy said she was very blessed and knew the Son was shining on them that day so they named me Sonshine. Here is my baby picture. *S*

Saphire Sue [Susan is my name] I choose Saphire to go with my ministry, Saphire Sue is a precious stone from God's garden, We are all special in God's eyes. Saphire Sue is True Blue [that's why she has a blue wig]. ... Sallybangs is my auguste clown, [this is my mothers nickname for me from early childhood, - I had a bad habit of cutting my long hair. Both are very much a part of me, but are distinct personallities in themselves.

I wanted something no one else had. I came up with it one day driving truck. I might have heard something on the raido too. I am finding out Bodiddly is hard for younger kids .

I wanted a name that, not only tied in with my appearance, but also that I could incorporate into my act. I sometimes pull foam pickles out of kids' ears, and I like to tweek magic tricks a little so they have a pickle theme (e.g. the peanut butter and jelly cannister trick becomes "peanut butter and pickles").

I have pickles on my shoes, and sometimes I wear pickle pins on my outfit. I once painted one of those yellow zipper banana purses green like a pickle, and I actually carried a real dill pickle in it. I called it my pickle purse. (it was cool, but it always leaked pickle juice all over my dress) Sadly, I lost it in a parade, and the only thing that cheered me up was thinking about the poor soul who found the thing!

I think she has to be a SWEET Pickle, 'cuz she sure is NICE.

I love the Pickle purse story. I wonder what the person thought! Ha ... that's good. Thanks for a morning waker-upper.

Sassy Frass came from a a man who was dear to me...His name was Fred.
My father-in-law and I used to sit and drink sassafrass tea (that he had taught me to identify, dig, and brew). I as a young woman used to love to hear the stories of life and love he used to tell..And of course the yarns he would spin. We had many warm days beside the woodstove, tea in hand....He is gone now to that great beyond. In his honor, I am named Sassy Frass...Besides I am quite Sassy!!!

I have to admit, I think of Pickles the Clown whenever I see that new Vlasic commercial with the little girl loudly chomping the pickle.

My first clown name was Lily. That was 9 years ago. I picked that in honor of my cousin's aunt Lillian that I met only once at my cousin's wedding. She was very nice and very funny. I started clowning right after that.

After a 7 year break from clowning, I decided to get back into it. For VBS this year, our church is doing "power lab". the script calls for a Professor Wilma, but I didn't like that name, not interesting or funny enough. So I am now Professer TruLeigh Smart. She is a character clown. No makeup, just lab coat, glasses, and an old-fashioned hat.

My main clown character is named Petunia. She has yet to make her first public appearance. I will contact a local nursing home this week about visiting a couple times a month. I picked the name because I have flowers in my costume and I bought some petunias a couple weeks ago to plant in my flower beds. I think Petunia works for my character.
