Actually, to the contrary, I think it is important to allow people to see us for who we are as human beings. More than being simplistic "happy" creatures as clowns, we reflect the entire range of human experience. And, as normal people just like everyone else in the world, we are sometimes happy, sometimes sad, sometimes joyous, sometimes depressed or frustrated. When everyone around us begins to appreciate this better, they will start to understand what clowns are really about.

So well put. We really do need to constantly perceive the inherent humors in life - even when there is sadness. First and foremost, we have to be able to laugh at ourselves, along with our own fallenness.

Willace, shame on you for having a self-pity party. You should count your blessings and stop focusing on the fact that you aren't "with" someone. When it's time for you to be "with" someone, it will happen. It may never happen but that's not the end of the world. Relationships are not always wonderful and sometimes, the ones who are in relationships WISH they could be by themselves. There is a phrase I have adopted ... "it's better to be by yourself than to WISH you were."
At Christmas time, a friend of mine went to the underpasses of Chicago where people were actually LIVING (because they had no place to live ) and my friend delivered blankets, pillows, and warm clothing to these people who were VERY grateful for her generosity because Chicago winters are extremely cold and snowy. You, at least, don't have that to deal with.
Now, you need to SMILE ... I think you have a lot of things to be happy about. You have friends, your family, and have the ability to be a clown to help others smile. You have a lot of respect right here on Clown Forum and I bet that is true in your day-to-day life too, but if you're sitting around wondering what will make you happy, you won't see what can make you happy.
YOU KNOW, JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO WE!
SMILE, WILLACE, SMILE!!! SIZE][/font]

Willace, I toyed with responding to you but want just add these points to ponder the next time you are wanting to have a "Get Down on Willace Day":
If you woke up this morning healthy ... remember that you are much better off than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the fear and loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pain of starvation ... you are better off than 500 million people in the world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep ... you are more comfortable than 75% of the people in this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, spare change in a drawer, a pocket or somewhere ... you are among the top 8% of the world's most wealthy people.
If you can read this, remember that there are over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
If you have your own PC at home, you own something that costs more than an average person earns in an entire year in Somalia or Sierra Leone.
If you are 15 and you live in the USA you'd expect to live to 75(b) and 80(g), but if you are born in Botswana, you are already half way through your expected time on earth! On average you wouldn't live to see your 31st birthday in Botswana.
Do you need more - PLEASE dont take this wrong, you are very blessed, if you can stop..and turn all the NEGATIVE feelings into POSTIVE then look out.. you are going to out shine the sun..
(((HUGS)))
