I was diagnosed with ADD without hyperactivity back in school. I took medications for a while because my parents told me too, but I never liked them and I quit as soon as I could. I went through college just fine with out them.
The thing is prescription meds are only one part of a soultion if that is the route you want to take. The other part is basic behavioral therapy.

I find excersise helps, as well as meditation. My mom sent me to Korea with a thing of fish oil suppliments, but I have not tried it yet. I am pretty much addicted to caffine. In Korea, coffee is everywhere so it is just about impossible not to drink it.
The only universal truth about ADD, is that it is a mess. The good thing about it is that you have a lot of room to play in with it. I
I think clowning helps alot too. In alot of ways it is like meditation because when clowning you are in the moment making people laugh at what you are doing. Also it is quite physical, and you dont have to be normally sequentious about it. Impluses are quite alright.
