Okay, here goes the description. Just promise you won't laugh, I'm starting to think that it's a stupid idea now.
Okay. The concept of this three-part piece is an innocent romance.
The first picture to be put up will be a Whiteface male clown looking downward slightly. His arm extends as if holding something downward, though his arm goes out of frame so we cannot see it.
Beside (and slightly lower to) that picture is the continuation. It it put out in a landscape manner as opposed to the other two parts which are set in portrait.
In this second picture, we see the continuation of the sleeve and hand of the first picture. It will either be holding an over-sized flower, or a balloon flower. On to the third part. This is just a tad lower to the first picture.
The last picture is of a female Auguste clown modeled slightly after one of Coco's pictures. She is looking slightly upward to the slightly downward looking male.
When finished, the pictures will be hung up on the wall in frames for each of them. I have decided not to use canvas, but to use my trusty heavy and large charcoal sketch pad. I am going to use a combination of a light application of acrylic paint and a touch of charcoal for the details and base. In the past, this method has produced "lighter and brighter" results which would be appropriate for a child's room.
I have set down the sketches for all three parts and have put down a color scheme for the female. I have not put one down for the male nor have I put down the color for the flower picture. I also cannot decide between "over sized" flower or "balloon" flower.
If you have any suggestions for the male clown or the flower, please tell me.
Now, to answer one of Lolly Plop's questions, the impact this forum has had on me is great. After talking with some members and getting the feel of the clown community, I picked up some books at the library on clowning because I was honestly interested at this point. After finding out that clowning is indeed an art form that requires discipline and skill, I have much more respect and fascination for it. It is definitely a field I would like to research further.
My anxiety toward clowns has also diminished greatly due to getting to know the art of clowning better.
So, there you go. That's my idea so far.
